Tomatillos...... 2/8/2007

The food is so-so. We were there just this past week, left a cash tip, and paid for the meal with the ATM card. It turns out the waitress helped herself to additional tips from the ATM card after we checked with our bank. BE CAREFUL when you pay with the ATM card at Tomatillos - apparently there are some thieves working there!!! Pros: Food was good Cons: Waitress taking out additional tips from ATM card more

Fanastic Resturant on Broadway 11/20/2006

It's convinenantly located and great food. I love coming for lunch. Usually I'll order the tortilla soup with avocado's and a chicken soft taco. It's filling and affordable. The chicken is delicious! The atmosphere is perfect for any tourist or business meetings. Pros: great for lunch Cons: not so safe parking lot more

worst customer service -waitstaff 9/28/2006

food was cold and the service was slow but when asked for a manager he was not there ......i would not ever tell anyone to eat there ....worst food and service Pros: IF U LIVE GREAT BAR TO DRINK ...ITS THE FASTES BAR Cons: SERVICE WAS SLOW AND THE WORST I HAVE EVER GOT more

The food is overpriced. 8/24/2006

The food is good but I've had much better in San Antonio. For the prices they charge, one would expect better quality. more

Very Disappointed 5/25/2006

I just moved here from Los Angeles and have been searching for some great Mexican food. I can tell you that this is not the place. The food was very expensive and even an iced tea was $2.25. THey use the hard red tortillas for their enchaladas and the sauces were really not good. Overall I did not like the food or the service and will not return. I will keep on searching. more

First Impressions 3/15/2006

Tomatillos was the first Mexican restaurant we tried in San Antonio (2000). The lively decor, the lunch crowds of tourists, locals, military, medical people said that this place was a favorite of many. I liked the vegetarian items on the menu, the smell of fresh-baked tortillas, and giant glasses of iced tea. Tomatillos is still a favorite place to bring our friends and relatives from out-of-town. Pros: Food, Decor, Ambience more

Hands down the best Tex Mex in San Antonio 5/27/2005

Tomatillo's is awesome and has never failed to deliver. No matter what you're looking for - enchiladas, tacos, burritos, even hamburgers and chicken fried steak! - this is going to be the best in San Antonio. And the margaritas are sublime. Can you tell that we're fans? Highly recommended. Pros: best Tex Mex, awesome margaritas, great service more

Seventeen years of good food and service 3/17/2005

Food is fresh tasting, service is great. Wait staff polite, helpful. When I have out of town guests who want to eat good mexican food, this is the place I take them. Pros: medium prices, good portions, fast service Cons: few menue changes more

kids in tow? no problem! 3/11/2004

fantastic place to go if you don't have a sitter and still want to have a great margarita or two. the waitstaff is very kid-friendly, and children's plates are actually children's portions of the same food, and priced appropriately (no $10 burger and fries plates that the kids aren't going to finish here!). Pros: tri-color margarita!, affordable more

Every time we arrive in San Antonio, Tomatillo's is a place we always go for a great Mexican Dinner. Pros: Great Food, Easy Parking, Seated Quickly more

Food great, service rude. 5/19/2003

Food was excellent. The service was not. The waitress acted like she was doing you a favor to wait on you! Asked for suggestions because it was our first time and she could not recommend anything. Pros: Great magaritas, Great food, Great sauce Cons: Crowded, Loud, Parking Poor more

A favorite of mine 2/10/2003

You get what you pay for. And the little higher cost is well worth it. The atmosphere is lively, the food is top notch (all be it a style different from what I grew up with (Pacific/SoCal)), and the service is excellent. Their tortillas, both Corn & Flour are freshly made, and their menu is quiet varied. On slower days they have even offered to make dishes Pacific/CA style to my specifications for a little bit extra. And their selection of alchohalic beverages aren't to shabby either. Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Waiting for Seating, Noisy more
