This little ""hole in the wall"" offers solid mexican cuisine at a reasonable price. It is a locally owned family business that is a refreshhing alternative to the nation wide chains. A throwback to simpler times the restuarant located downtown before downtown was cool, moving into an old lunchcounter location that has been there since the sixties. Toledo's is one of the few businesses that has it's roots in the north and moved downtown, most businesses have been doing the opposite. The chile colorado is the best I have ever tasted, for a special treat order it over the top of your burrito with melted cheese. Toledo's has recently expanded their menu to accomodate those in groups who may not be traditional mexican food fans and are looking for some variety, if that describes you I recommend the chicken salad with Blue cheese dressing it is all white meat chicken strips (think fajitas without the limp lifeless vegetables) over a bead of lettuce. I asked about the incredible dressing and found out it is made fresh on site using burgandy wine and real buttermilk-heaven .
Pros: Fast lunchtime service
Cons: Cramped quarters, great for romance, difficult for power lunching
