Best Sushi and Hibachi around 10/30/2010

Hibachi has improved with more choices and they also include fried rice with it! My kids love the hibachi cooking! My husband and I had some of their new house rolls as an appetizer and they were amazing! Try some of their spicy rolls. The place looks great and has significantly improved with the original owners being back! more

Try the J Lo Roll! 3/17/2010

The service is kind of slow here but the place is intimate enough to probably get some action while you're waiting for your table to get taken care of if you're not @ a hibachi pit. I DO love the sushi. You NEED to try the J Lo or at least look @ the private sushi list taped to a poll in the restaurant. Ask your server.. they kind of keep this part hidden. All I have to say about J Lo is that it's a tempura-style roll that is freaking amazing and warm and spicy and full of different fishies. The hibachi isn't bad too.. but who really can screw that up ;) Pros: best value for sushi/hibachi Cons: service is kind of slow more

The Greatest Sushi 9/16/2009

I have been to a number of places for sushi, in Plymouth, Dartmouth, Martha's Vineyard and Boston and Tokyo has the freshest, tastiest servings of Sushi and Maki. The house specials are delightful, especially the Volcano Roll, Mattapoisett Roll, J-Lo and the Seng Special. Pros: Sushi, Presentation, Service Cons: Sometimes Slow more

good food bad swervice 1/31/2009

I have been going in here for about 2-3 years and food is awesome! I LOVE the shumai and the maki rolls - i LIVE for going here on my days off, but i have to comment on the wait staff and management. I have had it with the way the place is run. Every time i go in there on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc the place is FREEZING in the winter. They do not turn the heat on in the place. I don't know if they are too cheap to turn the heat on but if i go in to spend 100 dollars i expect to NOT freeze my but off! Tonight i went in there and ended up walking out because after 15 mins. nobody came up to wait on me!! I walked up to the women who had seated us and i said ""we have been waiting for over 15 mins."" and nobody came up to us"" and she said "" oh so sorry"" but i said "" im sorry but im leaving""... and i left. If you're reading this taste of tokyo, please change the way you operate your business. Please TURN the heat on during your hours of operation. if i go in for 100 dollar sushi bill on Saturday at 2 pm i expect to have a temperature of at least 68 degrees (not 51 degrees) and this is no joke. They refuse to turn the heat on. Pros: food Cons: service and heat more

Best Sushi Around & Best Ambience! 3/16/2008

Okay, if you like traditional sushi without wild names and trendy titles, come to Tokyo. The sushi is fresh and delicious. There are some secret sushi offerings that are not on the traditional list, so ask for the Sushi Specials. Lots of fun here with the J-Lo and Sato Special. The spicy tuna is the best I have ever had anywhere, coast to coast. The delicacy of Tokyo in no uncertain terms is Hay Wan's traditional Crab Salad. I crave the dish and often come to Tokyo for this exclusively. The Miso Soup is delicious and relaxes your palate for more great food. Don't be intimidated. Tokyo offers delicious meals as well and has a wonderful, relaxing atmoshpere. The Bar and Dining areas are my favorites, but the Hibachi tables are a fun time for a group or family activity. Ask about the popular dessert called Mochi. It is a pleasure for the taste buds with flavor and texture. Tokyo is high quality, fresh Japanese food. I will be a customer for many more years to come. Pros: The quality of the sushi served is always fresh. Very delicious interpretations of dishes I've had elsewhere. Tokyo's is truly the Best tasting! Cons: Sometimes the service can be a bit off if its very busy. Still worth the wait, though. more

quiet & dark 10/12/2007

At 5:15 on a Thurs I was the only customer in the place. There parking lot is big. As you walk in light is at a minimum except for the sushi bar. Even though it was raining-the front door (facing rt 6) was left open. My order was promptly taken. The Sushi Chef was new, and served me a complimentary little salad. The miso soup was hot but alittle on the salty side. The plate of sashimi was beautifully arranged along with what was suppose to be a spicy tuna hand roll. I was disappointed when I bit into it and it only contained fake crab meat. The sashimi was fresh frozen but tasety. And the shrimp tempura appetizer came with 3 large shrimp, a piece of yam, onion ring, carrot and zucchini. The batter was plain and unfortunately very greasy. Pros: Good parking, big bar Cons: food needs improvement more
