Wonderful setting for wonderful a lunch 9/12/2009

The setting of the tea room is in the middle of Tohono Chul Park and just a gorgeous place to take anyone. We had heard that Albert Hall from Acacia took over and since we just love his other restaurant our expectations were a little high. As soon as we walked in the host was just as warm and friendly as she could be. She took us to the back patio, which was just beautiful by the way, where we had the best Huevos Rancheros I've ever had and my wife had the Apricot & Cream Cheese filled French Toast which was absolutely amazing. Our service was friendly but not intrusive and the manger made us feel right at home. If you're ever are in the mood for a fantastic brunch check out the Tohono Chul Tea Room. I'ts worth it!! Pros: beautiful patio service and food more

User review by saffie 10/13/2005

The tea room is down to earth and set in a quaint rustic old tucson ranchette. I had my wedding there and have fond memories of the place. The food is average, simple and unpretensious. I go there to relax and enjoy the surrounding. Pros: great ambience, inexpensive, good service Cons: may not fill ya up more

Great Food, Excellent Space 5/31/2003

Now here's a restaurant Tucson can be proud of! Nestled in the 49 acre natural desert habitat known as Tohono Chul, this adobe tearoom and the adjacent gift shop are housed in one of the buildings bequeathed to this organization by the original benefactor. The food is exceptional -- for Tucson, at least. Original and tasty, the menu is diverse and moderately priced. You could propose to your spouse-to-be or treat Dad to lunch here. Never any excuses or bad food. Don't miss this one! Pros: great food, excellent atmosphere, clean clean clean Cons: waiting for tables, don't bring the kids more

A Personal and Family Favorite 10/4/2002

A delight to visit irregardless of season from the wonderful gardens that attract a variety of birds and butterflys, to changing exhibits in the museum, and to fantastic meals in the Tearoom. Arrive early for lunch as an excellent reputation can mean a long wait on some days. Pros: Beautiful grounds, Terrific meals, Friendly staff Cons: Inadequate parking more

oasis in the desert 9/24/2002

a nice little place for an afternoon break or morning snack. fun and relaxing. not a complicated thing going on here, just southwestern , laid-back charm. eating on the patio is like having a landscaped backyard to sit in, refreshing and enjoyable. Pros: atmosphere, open, roomy, usually seats availab Cons: out of the way more

Small enuf not to overwhelm, big enuf to 8/5/2002

Accessible, humanly proportioned, imaginative, welcoming. Whenever I vist I get new ideas for our landscaping. Pros: inexpensive, good parking, never too crowded more

Good food, poor service 6/8/2002

Great setting, great food, but not so great service. We arrived, were seated and waited for ever until I finally went to the front and asked if we had a server. The busser came over and took out drink orders. Finally, our server showed up and took our orders. The food came up quickly and that was the last time we saw our server, until I asked the busser for our bill. She (server) failed to meet the two bite, two minute check back, and frankly, she was not too pleasent either. I went up to tell the manager, and she made no apologies nor did she offer anything. I will never go back. Restaurants are about SERVICE, food come second. more
