Best

Excelent food, excellent service. Need to say no more, except, those that had a bad experiance, you must try again. Pros: Everything!!!! Cons: Nothing;-)

Worst

Find the food and service not worth the price. The salad was warm. One of the dishes were very salty. The rice was hard (undercooked). Cons: Quality of food/price

Worst steak EVER 3/18/2010

We went to Tio PePe as a group of eight people, I order a filet medium well and when it arrived it was burnt crispy, the manager came arounmd and asked how was the food and when we told him the steak was burnt his comment was (NEXT TIME DO NOT ORDER A STEAK) so if you want lousy food and lousy service go to pepe. Cons: EVERYTHING...service was horrible, food was even worse more

dissapointing 1/28/2008

We were eager to try this restaurant and made reservations for a Sat. night (not necessary, it was half empty). The server was inexperienced, did not have a good knowledge of the wine list and recommended a wine that was not very good. (obviously a college student). My husband ordered the lobster (overcooked and tough) and I had the grouper en papillotte (all stuffing and no fish). We will probably not go back. However, it did have a cozy interior and we had a great appetizer of serrano ham, manchego cheese and apple slices - though it would be hard to mess that up. Pros: easy parking Cons: service and food more

Really the worst service I have ever had!!! 1/13/2008

Was excited to try after not frequenting for a yr or so, We made a reservation for 7:00pm on a Saturday Night and was suprized to see we did not really need them. Very casual atmosphere. Meeting two other couples for dinner and service for water was great - from there it went down hill fast. Ordered a Bottle of 1989 wine from the list and 40 minutes later the wine was presented along with the waiter asking for our orders. 1st we saw him after the water and bread were supplied. Pros: Reservations were easy to make Cons: Service and Management should have been working a drive thru! more

Great food and service, more expensive then we expected. 11/11/2007

Tio Pepe has wonderful food, stone crab claws were excellent and the prime rib is the best I have ever had. Just so you know when you go to Tio Pepe be expecting at least $50 a head. The food and service is great, they also have wonderful desserts just be aware at the per person cost. Oh, and great martini's! Pros: Great food and service, wonderful tradition Cons: Pricey more

Wow, best prime rib in the world 9/14/2006

A great place for Bad Food and Poor Service! 9/10/2006

Just went to Tio Pepe's this weekend for dinner. First, the rude hostess told us that we did not make a reservation, eventhough I pointed out our name on the dining list and the restaurant was almost empty. Taken to a table that was just plain, dirty, remains of food under the chair and something sticky on the tabletop. The meal arrived without delay, however, it was cold and the rice was overcooked. How a Spainish restaurant overcooks rice is hard to believe. Finally, we received a bill for four dinners, however, we only had to in our party. It took over 30 minutes just to get the check corrected! I could not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Cons: Bad Service and Poor Food more

Not a Mexican restaurant 2/20/2006

We thought this was a Mexican restaurant. We were surprised it was a Spanish restaurant. We didn't have reservations but got seated anyway. Our food was so delicious. I had the arroz con pollo, my husband had the beef tips. There was more than we could eat and the service was great. We're going there for our anniversary next week. I'm having the seafood next. A best kept secret. We got there early and there weren't many there. About 1 hour later the place was crowded. We were dressed casual but so were the majority. Some were dressed up. It didn't matter. Highly recommended. Pros: plenty of parking, dress is casual Cons: busy street more

Not worth the time! 2/4/2006

You wait for a table surrounded by tacky fixtures in a room that has not been updated this millenium. You wait at a table that was purchased at a garage sale for a bottle of wine that comes after your appetizer and salad. You wait for your main course and it arrives cold. You wait for your check to be prepared and your waiter cannot be found. You wait to write a review so other dinners know to avoid this restaurant. Cons: Tacky more

Great Dinner 11/22/2005

A recent dinner her confirms that after 29 years Tio Pepe""s can still deliver a great meal. The filet, which they tell me is Iowa Beef, was tender and cooked as requested. and served on a hot sizzling platter. The onion rings and baked potato were done to prefection. My wife had the stuffed pompano with saffron rice and was most delighted with the flavors and enjoyed the complete evening. We were also impressed with the wide selection the wine cellar. We continue to recommend Tio Pepe for a great evening out. more

$20 for what? 5/19/2004

Drove up on Thursday night at 730pm, no one in the parking lot. That should be your 1st clue. Food was bad and the sign on the jukebox summed it up, ""I may look good but I'm old and dont work, so dont touch me"". I would expect to pay $8 for such a meal. Pros: Funny Waiter, Parking Cons: , Food more

Plain and simply... 8/27/2003

an AWFUL dining experience. Overpriced, supposedly upper class, and average food at best. The best advice I can give is if you are driving to Tio Pepe, keep going onto the Courtney Campbell and go to the Columbia, LaTropicana, etc. in Tampa...it is WELL worth the drive. Cons: overrated food, dark, dreary decor, high prices more

Overpriced 6/18/2002

Find the food and service not worth the price. The salad was warm. One of the dishes were very salty. The rice was hard (undercooked). Cons: Quality of food/price more
