I checked out Tillamook Head Books this weekend when I was in Seaside. It is a small little store that sells both new and used books. As I browsed the shelves, it seemed like most of the books were new, and the ones that were used were in very good condition. This is no Barnes and Noble, that is for sure. The Children's Section was quite small, but the selection of books was wonderful. There wasn't a lot of shelf space wasted on the "fly by night" titles. Instead, there were wonderful classics, like "Good Night Moon", and newer mainstays like "Sheep in a Jeep" and "Pete's a Pizza", and much more.
There were 2 or 3 chairs for more in depth browsing and the clerk/owner, was helpful but not overbearing.
Tillamook Head Books is a little off the beaten path of the main Seaside attractions on Holladay Drive, about a block South of Broadway. However, it's easy to find right across from Bagels By The Sea, a great place for lunch. http://www.judysbook.com/members/Afton/posts/2006/4/326729/
I can never pass up a bookstore, and this was a fun one to step into.
