Best Native American Gallery I've ever been to 10/29/2011

We stopped by this place on our way to the Grand Canyon. We decided to go to Williams, AZ to see the historic town on the historic route 66. After walking through the various gift shops that sell the same generic items we finally walked into Thunder Eagle. This place is like a Museum or Gallery. They have art and jewelry made by the tribes around the area like the Zuni, Navajo, Hopi, and Acoma. Most of the Jewelry, pottery, and artwork even have the name, description, photo of the artist who made the work. My children also loved the place because they have a little section where you can grab a pouch and fill it with various rocks and gems. The owners were there, and they were extremely helpful and informative. They were really cool about letting us walk freely on our own and take photos, which most people do. The "do not touch" signs are really meant for young children. I bought a beautiful spiny oyster watch and a red coral beaded necklace which I always get compliments on. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely pay Thunder Eagle another visit. more

Gorgeous Art 6/12/2010

Truly beautiful authentic jewlery and hand made items. I bought an Opal Heishi necklace in 2009 when I visited Williams and while passing through in 2010 bought more. It is not a typical tourist store with costume jewlery mixed with real jewlery. It is all authenticly made and many signed pieces are available. Prices are not low but quality is high also. Will be going there in July 2010 and will most certainly will go back for more truly beautiful jewlery. Sandra M So California more

Excellent selection...lower price but still high. 4/15/2007

After spending half the day looking at Effie Calavas jewelry and seeing every stores selection between the grand canyon and williams. I fond this store to be the most farily (lowest) priced. They gaurantee authenticity, however, their garauntee is simply a hand out of the artist with the artist's picture. Although I have yet to find a place, even in GC where a reliable authenticity certificate is issued (with batch#, artist signature, thumb print, etc, etc) to verify the jewelries authenticity. The piece I bought came out to 208 after taxes. After searching the web i found the same piece for 189, and similar pieces for 70. All "garaunteeing" authenticity. The overall selection in the store was much better than anywhere else. They had artist from all over the southwest and the jewelry was generally of greater quality than the trading posts, and gas stations of the grand canyon - williams corridor. In the end if you see a piece you like, money is not much of a factor, and you enjoy th peace of mind that you are more than likely getting an authentice piece (according to sources there are/were many fakes from abroad , i.e. CHINA, I would recomend buying from them. Just dont try to find the "real" price on the web. more

One of the largest all Native stores in Arizona 10/1/2006

This is an absolutely georgous privately owned 100% Native store. This store is absolutely packed with all Native jewelry from traditional to the contemporary. Beautifully decorated, every case is different from the next (& they have about 25 cases to go thru). All jewelry is silver with 1 case of all 14K gold. I would say that they are an upper end store but also carry the everyday less expensive items also. Their potter is quite extensive starting with the Navajo etched to the Pueblo pottery with artists like Carla Claw Nampejo, Mary Small & Joe Arviso to name a few. On the walls you will find items like ceremonial war outfits at $4,800.00 to dreamcatchers at $3.99ea. Stop by & see for yourself. When you're finished come back & rate this for yourself. more
