We absolutely loved this hotel! 12/14/2011

My husband and I are in our early thirties, and we always need other options outside of staying only in our resort/hotel. This was perfect! It's less than a half mile walk to all the great little wine bars and restaurants. We came here as the beginning of a trip down the coast of Central Ca. I'm so glad we chose this particular hotel. It is beautiful, the staff is unbelievably friendly, I didn't have one bad meal, and the wine just floooows. :) As far as meals go…you MUST eat at La Toque inside the hotel. It has a sommelier that comes around to tables assisting in wine pairings. Try the Ricotta Chick Pea Ravioli. Holy cow, it was delicious. The whole thing was an amazing dining experience!!! The rooms are very spacious. Ours in particular had a pool view with a large balcony, a kitchenette with full dishes and silverware, stainless steel appliances, a large bathroom with a separate bath and shower, a living room with a flat screen TV, and a large bedroom with comfy pillows. It was definitely larger than most one bedroom apts. The bar stays open late, and the bartenders are really friendly. We’re pretty social people, and we didn’t have a hard time meeting people to talk with – patrons or staff. The hotel's outdoor patio is a great place to hang out and eat or drink, and if it gets chilly in the evening, the staff will light the heaters. Behind the patio is a decent sized pool, and there is also a large hot tub. I saw very few children when we were there, so that was kind of nice. I’m not saying that kids wouldn’t have a good time also, but in general, the hotel (and city) seems a little more for adults. NOTE: All food and drinks you order already have a 15% gratuity added to it. It does show it on the receipt. Don't forget! We always like to squeeze in a workout, and their workout facility was great. Very clean with lots of cardio machines, free weights, etc… We wanted to go on a bike ride through the wine valley and stop at some of the wineries. (I highly recommend it, but it can be a little intimidating at times riding on the side of busy roads.) Napa Valley Adventure Tours was basically next door to the hotel, so we walked there, grabbed the rental bikes, helmets, and maps, and rode off. That was really convenient. Of our entire trip, this was absolutely my most favorite stay. I love this hotel, and I loved waking up in the morning, grabbing some coffee from the lobby (bar/restaurant) and taking a walk along the trail with trees and a river directly behind the hotel. Very peaceful, and a nice way to wake up. more
