The Pointe Day Spa @ Bethany Athletic Club

I was greeted me upon my arrival. It was a Monday morning and I was not sure if I could get the services I wanted. The Woman who greeted me was not only nice but very helpful and attentive. I was a walk in appointment and was able to get in for a full set of gel nails! I also was able to squeeze in an eyebrow wax. From beginning to end, my experience was wonderful! I felt like a million dollars when I left. I was taken care of in every way. I would highly suggest the Pointe day spa to anyone. Pros: Wonderful customer service more

I arrived at the spa and was greeted by a very sweet lady! To my suprise i was offered a glass of wine or mimosa for my service and a robe to change in to. I loved my experience here and would recommend it to ANYONE! Best massage i have ever had :) Pros: Amazing massage more

I have to say that this was the best Spa day I have had in a very long time. I was impressed from the moment I stepped into the Spa. I was greeted by a very nice Woman who smiled instantly and warmly thanked me for coming to the Pointe. Her name tag had the name Cheryl on it. She really put the cherry on top of my wonderful Spa sundae. Cheryl told me she would be right back and that she would let Julie know that I was here for my treatment. Julie came out and greeted me. I just could not get over how genuinely friendly everyone was. I had the best pedicure from Julie. I look forward to going back. I would recommend The Pointe Day Spa at Bethany Athletic Club to ANYONE! Pros: Awesome Customer service from start to finish! more

This place was horrendous. I was using a gift certificate that I got for my birthday. I had used part of it and had a credit written on the card. They ask you to pay on your way out. Fine. My massage was ok. The massuese talked too much but it felt fine. When I left there were no showers and the person had given me a lovely oily head rub which left me looking like GARY BUSEYS mug shot! There was NO coming back from that hair do. I was ticked that the ability to shower was NOT AN OPTION! Then I went to pay. They said that my card didn't have any money on it which was a wrong. I could tell them exactly when and where I had used it and she asked me to please wait. She made some phone calls and said, "There's nothing we can do, I'm sorry." WHAT?? I said to her, "I am not paying you." And she asked me to please sit and wait. I didn't know if they were calling security or what. I was shaking I was so mad but I remained calm as I could and then we "talked" some more about the situation. I said I was not going to pay her and if she could not tell me when I had used my card and prove that I had no money left on it then I would not pay! She could not come up with any dates or times and the date and time that I offered up was right in her books. I actually forget how long it took but somewhere along the lines of 25 minutes they made me sit and wait like a criminal. It was the most ANNOYING thing I have ever been involved with when it comes to dealing with a "customer service" type situation. I'm forty years old and I've dealt with alot of customer service situations. This one was the VERY WORST. Finally she let me go. DISGUSTING. I caution you to never, EVER go to this dungeon. You might not make it out without cuffs. They treat you like a criminal. Happy Birthday to me. - One star because I had to. I'd rather rate them 5 skull and crossbones. Buyer beware. //There is no option to give Rating 0. BAC doesn't deserve a Star. Why is diarr hea (without space not accepted) inappropriate to use? Every visit to the pool causes eye infections or diarr hea. If you check with front desk, they don't have a procedure to record any complaints. Talk to your friends who visit the BAC pool and check with them . Outside pool is so dirty that even sitting by side of it can cause sickness. Kids with diapers (hanging with space for water to flush the diaper) ,no control of number of people in water at a particular time etc. The family changing area is carpeted and has a stinky smell. You cannot take younger kids to the adult locker rooms. Every time you take your kids to the family changing room, you need to stop talking due to the smell and walk out ASAP. (Very bad choice to use carpet in that area, as it is wet most of the day and no space for fresh air to get in or to be sanitized, . Don't tell me you sanitize it at end of the day.) The Portland downtown club has a cleaner pool, small separate area for kids and professional staff. The group fitness sessions are so crowded that you need to step on other members during the aerobics and other group sessions. They don't have limitations on how many people can attend a class. If you can drive till 24 hour fitness or THPRD or cedar mill recreation center , do that for a healthy life and save your money. They also have very unreasonable policy, that kids under 7 must be put in the stroller to track with you on the track (so do kids under 7 must be put in the stroller to go to kindergarten????????), and kids under 7 are not allowed in the woman's lock room which has the steam room and sauna room, even the kids just going in take a shower. so if you have kids under 7 you probably don't want to join this club, because you never get chance to go to the steam room and sauna room. What an amazing experience. The staff in the spa was so warm and welcoming right from the start. All up until the delightful Chocolate Papaya Mud Wrap, I was catered and taken care of. The staff created such a stress and tension free environment, I completely forgot about the important meeting I had the next day. I have visited the Behany Athletic Club Spa for several types of treatments (massages, facials, pedicurs, gel nails, make-over, etc.) and have always appreciated the relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. I have experienced Spas in Texas, California, Oregon and Washington -- so I'm a bit picky. If you are looing for good service, spa like atmosphere and a knowledgeable staff -- then you will enjoy BAC. more

Inconsistent Service. First they assigned me a to an experienced facial tech, but when another person came, who seems to have more tipping power, the salon gave me a different facial tech. The tech they gave me whom I paid $85.00 was sneezing all the time! She has terrible allergy problems --- I was not very happy even if the teh tried to do a good job. more

This spa has a nice interior atmosphere. In general most of the experiences have been good, however I've had a few very bad experiences. For example, when I'm left with a very badly botched up wax job (skin torn off my eye lid) and a manager who seems to want to fish for excuses and is less than timely in being responsive. I have had been to many day spa's, and to say this is the best I've been to, is not a stretch. I was treated like royalty, and I never wanted for anything. The massage was incredible and Sara did a fabulous job. The pressure was just right and I felt so very comfortable and relaxed the whole time. Natalie gave me a pedicure and it was to die for. Very relaxing and enjoyable. I can't wait to go back. I think I will try a facial next, or maybe a body wrap. more

Rachelle the "hair expert" is my hero. I have been seeing her for over 4 years and have never felt like such a celebrity. I don't think I have gone a week without at least 3 to 4 compliments on my hair color or cut. I almost want to keep her a secret to ensure her availability for my every 6 week appointment. I guess I will have to book at least 6 months in advance now. more

I spent the the whole afternoon there! First, a great new hair look from Rachelle - this brunette was pretty nervous about trying highlights but anything to cover up that gray! Rachelle did a great job of listening to what I wanted and delivering - no more gray and a great new look! I then had the Opulence pedicure and my feet loved the massage and special attention - and my tech took my ticklish nature into consideration. Last, I had a great hour's massage by Cori - talk about relaxing! She was thorough and just enough pressure was applied - and she gladly accommodated my need to pamper my arms and hands (too much computer work these days!). A glass of red wine never hurts and the transition from one service to the next was easy and smooth. Great experience - what are you waiting for? I went to the Pointe adamant about a hair cut and walked out with the cutest hair cut and best experience I could have asked for. I was nervous about cutting my midback-length hair to above my shoulders but my stylist, Rachelle, made it easy and enjoyable. She walked me through the entire process, step by step, cut by cut. She intertwined my requests with her professional opinion and the result was nothing short of amazing! The polite and accommodating front desk and staff, along with the beautiful spa, created a relaxing and therapeutic environment, something a working mother really appreciates. I have been to many spas in the area, but my search for the perfect spa ended with the Pointe. Now, I will never go anywhere else for my hair needs, and I can?t wait to try the rest of their spa services! Pros: atmosphere, staff, services Cons: ?? more

The Pointe Day Spa knows how to make you feel AMAZING from head to toe! As I both work and am a full-time adult student, I don't have much time to feel pampered or take time to relax. When I decided I needed some relaxation, I scheduled an appointment for the Heart and Soul Wrap. It was one of the best things I've ever experienced! The spa's surroundings are both sophisticated and cozy, making you feel special and soothed. The wrap itself exceeded my expectations: my whole entire body hasn't felt that relaxed in a long time. I would tell you exactly what the wrap is like, but that would give away the secret to feeling so blissfully relaxed! I would highly recommend anyone try this if you want to feel amazing. The staff is highly trained (you can tell from the way they perform the service) and very friendly as well. I left feelling incredibly refreshed and renewed. My time at the spa was so much more than just an appointment for relaxation--the Heart and Soul Wrap was quite the experience! Pros: Staff, atmosphere, professionalism Cons: none more

Some friends told me about the Bethany Pointe Day Spa and how great their experience was. Not being a gym member I wasn't sure if I could use the spa. When I made my appointment I was told that I could visit the spa AND use the entire facility for the whole day! A double treat! So not only did I receive an out of this world facial and pedicure, but was able to enjoy all the club ammenities. The service as so relaxing in the spa...I felt so pampered! I can't wait to make my next visit! Pros: wonderful day spa in the suburbs, use of the gym for the day, wonderful staff and service Cons: none more

Okay, so I hate to be a rag, but I have to say that my pedicure at the Pointe was AWEFUL! Well, the finished product wasn't all that bad, but the experience was brutal. I kept wondering to myself, "what did I ever do?". The girl I had was LATE, loud, talked WAY too much, and looked like she was ready to wash dishes, not give me a pedicure. Let's start with the late. Okay, so who hasn't been running late every now and then, but an HOUR late? Give me a break! She wasn't even apologetic about it. I had to cancel lunch with my mother because not only did she start me an hour late, my 1 hour pedicure lasted an hour 45! Are you kidding?! It seemed like eveertime she spoke she'd stop working on my feet. Maybe less talk, more toes! I know more about her than I do my dentist, and I've been going to her for years! Maybe lay off the personal history a bit. I don't need to know about your divorce, your dogs, or your lack of funds, I just want my toes pretty! Is that too much to ask? The loud speaks for itself and as far as the dish-washer? All the rest of the staff I saw were wearing matching shirt things and she was wearing an apron. A vinyl apron at that. Luckily I have been to the spa before and will give it one last chance, but I'm telling you this, if I get that girl again I'm running as fast as I can! I was very surprised to find a spa so near where I live. I was a bit naive about what the large new building was in the area, and without any signage on the building, I was amazed to learn that a spa has been under my nose for almost a year! I went a few weeks ago with a friend to have pedicures and loved every minute of it! We had what they call a companion pedicure, which is one gal working on us both. From the minute we were picked up to the minute she walked us out, it was absolutely fabulous! Our gal's name was Heather, and from reading the other reviews, I see she was mentioned before. She is fantastic and that doesn't even begin to describe her. She made us feel so pampered. We were offered a glass of wine while we enjoyed our relaxing treatment. It was easy to see that she has been doing this for awhile. Heather was also able to answer some of our questions about other spa services and I am looking forward to trying many of them in the near future. Whatever you do spa owners, don't lose this girl! She has made a regular out of me! I tell everyone I know to visit the spa and Heather specifically. They are both the find of the century! Pros: HEATHER! I went to the Bethany Pointe Day Spa for a pedicure. I have been having pedicures regularly for the past 5 or so years. I have NEVER, in all my experience, had this superb of a pedicure! It was such a wonderful experience that I intend to make it a new ritual treat for myself. The spa was calming and smelled great! I felt like I was in my own bit of heaven for the time that I was pampered and my toes were gorgeous! My manicurist was a doll and so friendly. Not a bit stuffy or pretentious. We had a fantastic conversation and visit. I'm awful with names, but I will always remember hers because of the cute name bracelet she wore. I will always go to Heather at the Pointe Day Spa at Bethany for my pedicure needs! I am also looking forward to trying other Spa services in the near future. The best thing is you DO NOT have to be a Bethany Athletic Club member to enjoy the Spa. I would have gone sooner had I realized this.
