For the average restaranteur, the Melting Pot offers a unique experience, excellent staff, incredible food, and a stylish atmosphere, even in a city as unsophisticated as Virginia Beach, it is quite a step away from the norm. Upon entering, you'll notice that it is a peaceful, easy feeling for all who dine at the restaurant, and that the menus are made to serve any variety of appetites. Though this fondue place is pricey, you do get what you pay for, and I highly recommend going with any of the full course selections, with a cheese fondue for your veggies, a variety of fondues for your meat platter, and a killer desert fondue (like a dark/light chocolate mix for your fruits).
I'd go more often if I could afford it, but what can you do...the best special occasion location I can name.
