I've been a few times, and have even attended a Bridal Shower here. The food is awesome- so unique and absolutely delicious. The staff has always been really helpful and super entertaining. You can tell they really enjoy their jobs and love the food. Ask for staff recommendations- they always are right on target! Highly recommended! Most entertaining waitstaff i have ever encountered 4/12/2007

So my and a few of my friends decided to go out last weekend to the meltingpot. I had heard several people talk about it and decided to go try it out for myself. We waited for a bit to be seated (about 40 min with a reservation for a party of 4). Eventhough there seemed to be available tables, it seemed like the hostesses had no idea what they were doing. That was the only real problem. Once we were seated our waitress greeted us promptly. She was smiling and joking with us which at least made me forget about the wait. She was very helpful, and brought us our drinks promptly. We had the wisconsin cheese fondue on her reccomendation (afterall I just think cheese is cheese) and it was excellent. She jokingly said she was a "cheese master"---but i believe her, it was delicious! We all shared an entree for two (i forgot the name of it) and some filet which we cooked in the oil style. Now apparently this is a difficult style to cook in but we had no problem. They go over how to cook and its not difficult at all, For dessert we got the s'mores. DELICIOUS. Then again i am partial to chocolate. You get fruit, brownies, poundcake, cheesecake, marshmallows...mmm. All in all we spent about $50 a person cause we also had some drinks. The MeltingPot has a great wine list and liquor selection. However they do not have draft beer which would be excellent. I started with a bottled beer which seemed flat. I sent it back and got a mojito instead which was excellent. I didn't mind spending the money. Other then waiting for our table, the rest of the night went really well. It was probably some of the best service I have had. Very friendly waitstaff. Pros: service was great, very personable waitstaff Cons: better organization of reservations, no need to wait 40 min when you made a reservation more

Most incredible dining experience ever! 2/12/2007

After hearing rave reviews from my friends about this new restaurant, I knew I had to try it. I went in with my wife for our anniversary and was seated promtly. The decor is extremely pleasant, and the wait staff seemed to flow with ethusiam. Me and my wife were seated in a private booth area as the waiter introduced us to the menu and made us feel very welcomes. We tried the Wisconsin trio was cheese and it was fantastic! Our salads came out next and were top notch which was surprising considering that their forte is fondue. When our entrees came out, our eyes lit up. We were explained how to cook our foods (very painless and fun!). Different types of sauces were mouth watering and I thought to myself this meal couldn't get any better. That is until the dessert came. Everything you could possibly want to dip in chocolate was there. From pineapples to oreo-covered marshmellows to strawberries and cheesecake. Service was incredible. Even one of the owners came over to us and wished us a happy anniversary. They made us feel right at home. I have never had a dining experience like this one and can't wait to go back. You need to try this place out! Pros: Wine Selection, Service, Ambiance, Not rushed, Romantic Cons: Nothing more

Bad service, mediocre food, a ripoff! 12/4/2006

We went to this restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday expecting a fun and classy experience. We were severely disappointed. The place is extremely expensive (around $100 for a meal for two people), which I wouldn't mind if we would have had nice service and delicious food. The waitresses all seemed inexperienced and kept forgetting and confusing our orders. The plate of food that you get for $100 is miserable. The fondue which is what you go for is just plain OK, our Quattro Fromaggio fondue was watery and chunky and just tasted like wine. We totally felt ripped off, they charge you extra for each person that dips into your fondue but they do not add any extra cheese or refill it more often because of the extra person! I would definitely not recommend this place, way to expensive for what it is! Pros: nice ambiance, good chocolate fondue Cons: inexperienced waiters, mediocre food, expensive more

Best dining experience ever - make reservations! 10/28/2006

This is the first fondue type restaurant we have been too and what an excellent experience. Expect to spend a couple of hours dining on great cheese/meat/choc fondue.....wisconsin fondue the best - turtle choc fondue out of this world!! Order less than you think you might need - huge amounts of food. Had reservations and were seated promptly. Can't wait to go back again! Pros: great service, great food Cons: none more

Delicious Fondue! 10/24/2006

What a fun night out! I went with a bunch of girlfriends recently and we had the best time. The wines are delicious, the cheese fondue - amazing, the meats were so good and the chocolate fondue is a MUST. You definitely have to save room for the dessert! I honestly think the cheese fondue was the best part. Plan on being there for awhile. This is a real dining experience. Ah, I'm craving the fondue again... Pros: Delicious Cheese & Chocolate Fondue! Tons of wine. more
