Best

This is a place I have passed by many times but never really considered. A friend asked me to meet her there and I was so surprised. It was cozy and dimly lit, a nice crowd inside...

Worst

Food is bad, service is ok, and the wine is definitely overpriced (and not that good.) Don't wast your time and money, there are thousands of better places where to take a date.

nice for tourists 9/19/2006

I'm glad we have these in atlanta to entertain friends from out of town but other than that they aren't that impressive. The wine is over priced and they really should have a full bar. Every now and then it's fun to grab a glass of wine here but it's not a place to hang out. Just too pricey. Cons: expensive wine more

Shop till you drop 6/2/2006

I love this mall. Hugo Boss, Gucci, Armani, and Saks. What else could you ask for when shopping? Just looking is so much fun. My girlfriends and I can spend hours here. Pros: atmosphere, great location more

Learning about wine 6/2/2006

After shopping, my girlfriend and I were on our way to Twist, when a grape employee convinced us to give them a try. I know absolutely nothing about wine, but this is a perfect place for me. Our servers explanation of the categories of wine made it very simple. She brought several samples, before we found the perfect Pinot. She helped us pair our wines with cheeses. I loved the steak salad. I was blown away. The food, service, and music were fabulous. New York has nothing on Atlanta. Fun place. Pros: atmosphere, food, service more

What a Great Night!!! 5/9/2006

I just got back from the Grape at Phipps and WOW! what an amazing time. This is THE place for wine in Atlanta. The staff was so helpful and the food was out of this world. Good scene and the chairs were so comfortable. I will definitely be going back for good fine, great wines that I cannot get anywhere else, and a fun time. See you there! Pros: wine selction, location, comfortable more

Nice mall with Rude employees 11/23/2005

I recently went to Phips Plaza, mostly browsing since I don't have an extra $3000 to spend on a tiny green plush purse (I'm not kidding) but the stores were really nice, and I enjoyed looking at everything. However, the employees, mainly in Bebe were extremely rude. Pros: nice stores, variety Cons: pricey, rude cashiers more

Great concept but too $$ 11/12/2005

Hip atmosphere, great outdoor seating on a nice day, good crowd, but most of the wines by the glass are excessively expensive! I can't justify spending $12 -14 on a glass of average wine. Pros: Atmosphere, Outdoor seating Cons: Too expensive more

Something's missing 8/19/2005

The wine selection was great and the atmosphere was nice enough. However, the food was definitely below average and service was only so-so. This would be a nice place for drinks and maybe an appetizer, but I wouldn't plan a night out at the grape. It works well for happy hour though. Pros: location, wine list Cons: food more

A GREAT EXPERIENCE 7/20/2005

We had the Roma Tomato and a Hummus & Salsa appetitzers with glasses of Amarone. We also had Tuscan Quesadillas with a bottle of Chianti. I want to say usaully wine drinkers will pair these wines with beef, as I do, I must say the food and wine pairing on the meal were just fabulous...absolutely delicious. more

A wonderful experience! 4/2/2005

The Grape in Vinings has been a long standing favorite of mine. We visited the Grape at Phipps this weekend, and enjoyed our entire experience immensely! The food is always top notch, with a great selection of cheeses, olives and desserts. We also always get the steak sandwich - outstanding! The staff is wonderful, always attentive and knowledgable. The jazz guitarist and singer gave a great backdrop to the evening. The number system used by the Grape to categorize their wines by taste makes it easy to get into wine tasting, and allows for a new try each time we go in the category that each of us likes. Bottles average about $15.00 on the retail side, which in my opinion, is extremely reasonable, especially when we're trying something we've never had before! We'll definitely return here - or to the Forum location in Gwinnett, another great Grape location! Pros: great service, delicious food, wonderful wines Cons: none! more

Surpisingly pleasant experience...... 3/20/2005

I am by no means a wine expert. I was a bit nervous heading into The Grape, as I didn't want my wine ignorance to shine right through. The wines are classified in a very unique way, as to assist in helping you find what you are looking for. We opted for the tasting which consist of a minimum of 3 wines. Our waiter, Derrick, was EXCELLENT and offered up a few suggestions to help ease the anxiety. We tried 3 different wines each, and really liked two. One special touch that we liked was they bring a print out with your tasting of the wines you selected, and a brief description of what you are drinking. We also ordered lunch, and found it to be exceptionally good. It's a light menu, but very good and very fresh. Definitely worth a visit for lunch if you are in the area. Pros: Excellent Service, Light food, but good, People watching Cons: Could get pricey, Highbrow Phipps crowd more

Posh and Upscale 2/9/2005

When I moved to Atlanta I was afraid that there would not be any place to suit my tastes. I found that I was wrong once I discovered Phipps Plaza. The mall is a luxury hot spot with stores like Gucci, Tiffany and Company, and Versace. This truly is Atlanta's exclusive uptown high class shopping destination. And what better place for a mall like Phipps Plaza tha Buckhead, Atlanta's upscale district of fantastic shopping, dining, and clubbing. more

Real Upper Class 7/16/2002

we in Europe [I myself am from the Netherlands] have lots of good stores with class, but this is one mall that is all class, still you can walk easy like with your shorts, without having the feeling you gonne get kicked out, food court; best ther is! from a salad to a burger from johnny rockets Pros: great parking Cons: must pay a lot more
