Pleasure to Hang... 12/21/2010

It was a great pleasure to deal with the personnel and the products from The Drapery Man. They where recommended to me through a colleague that had a good experience and was happy to pass their information on to me. I ordered 21 custom window treatments that consisted of 6 different sizes. I?m not familiar with pricing on window treatments but I explained that I was in a timeline catastrophe. The sales women got me what I needed in such a hurry I was able to meet my deadline. I was astounded that each treatment was marked for each and every location, which made the install job as easy as plug and play and was worth every penny. more

Professional to a T 1/10/2009

A few months ago my wife decided she wanted new drapes for our bedroom sliding doors. Due to some unique design flaws in this room, store bought drapes were not an option. After contacting a couple of design firms and home decore stores, we were directed to the Drapery Man. We called on a monday for an appointment and Jaimee (the designer) was able to see us the following day. After disscussing our ideas for style and fabric, she got an immediate grasp of the concept we were going for. We were so pleased with her sketches and fabric ideas, we hired the shops services and within 6 weeks had a beautiful window treatment installed in our bedroom. During the 6 weeks my wife and I made a couple trips to the shop and a few phone calls. Every time we made contact, we were greeted warmly and professionally and the small family-type staff always answerd our questions with courtiesy and patience. We like to support local businesses and I highly recommind the Drapery Man for their creativity and professionalism, as a matter of fact this spring they will be doing our living room windows! more

Read before Hanging a Drape from them. 7/28/2008

I calmly went into the establishment in a good mood to get an estimate for drapery and accesories for my bathroom. I plainly told the female measurement / designer what I needed. A roll Shade for a window and a cornice. The window was 45X44 approx. I even had my very own fabric with me. After 20 minutes of hearing what she recommended, and talking so fast I could not keep up...the totals where written down all over the place on a piece of paper. I almost said yes to the window treatment until I inquired further. It was estimated actually 420.00 total to cover one single bathroom window. The roll shade was contracted out to a company in portland....?? I decided just to have them make a sink skirt, I called to give them a finish length for the skirt. It was my understaning that the skirt was going to have fringe around the whole bottom and side edges. The had and etire Croscrill bath shower curtain panel to use. The rude and LOUD mouth woman on the other end of the phone immediately got defensive when I asked why the fringe could not be put on the bottom and sides.. She explained that they did not have enough fringe / fabric to do so. my sink measurement "" 22 inches around and 35.5 inches long"" . If a drapery company can not do a sink skirt out of a ton of fabric and do it the way I wanted it....I am very glad I did not have them do my window treatment. The phone conversation was so unpleasant that I had to hang up on the woman. If there was another person to talk to it might have been a different experience. Pros: ? Cons: Rude salesperson ESPECIALLY OVER the phone more

Arm and a Hem. 10/12/2007

$400 to hem two sets of drapes and shears. Not sure if that's average, but it sure seems pricey to me. more
