Best locally grown produce 1/21/2010

The Barn is a great place to find your locally grown produce during the growing season. You won't find it any fresher! The summer and fall are so much fun to visit the barn. We make it a point to go there during our lunch break to get our local produce to use for dinner that night...there isn't anything better! Highy recommend the Barn! more

First and last trip 10/13/2009

We were looking for a new place to buy fresh, local produce and decided to give 'The Barn' of Trapold Farms a trial. Well, we will not be returning. The selection was ok, as were the prices. What made The Barn such a disappointment was one particular employee. I had my two kids and a niece with me because they wanted to pick out some pumpkins. My older child and niece were talking and laughing among themselves, but not bothering anyone else. They weren't playing with the displays or produce, or even running around. One woman employee walked by and said ""KIDS!"" very loudly, in a warning tone. I guess children are not allowed to talk and laugh here. The kids quieted down, but the woman was not through with us. We were sorting through the corn and my MIL was removing some excess corn husks from the corn she was buying. The woman came by again and said very loudly ""Do NOT remove the husks in here! You know that!"" No, we did not know, and it was only after we left that we saw the sign telling customers to not remove any corn husks inside the store. The woman should have pointed this out to us in a more courteous manner. We did not appreciate this attitude that we received and will not support or recommend this business. We will continue to trek out to Sauvie Island instead, where the produce, prices, atomosphere, and customer service is 10x better. Pros: n/a Cons: Service more

Pumkins, pumpkins everywhere 10/4/2005

Now is the time to visit the The Barn for some great kids entertainment. They can go on the hunt for their great pumpkin in the you pick pumpkin patch, for free they can find their way thru the great corn maze, try there climbing skills at haystack mountain, run thru another maze of hay bales and on the weekends they can go on a real hayride. And dont forget before you leave to stop in the Barn for some wonderful fresh produce, corn, beans, potatos, tomatos and so much more. The staff is very warm, friendly and so helpful. more

Like a farmer's market, only better 9/30/2005

A coworker of mine turned me on to this place. Its a huge barn that houses a produce market. The majority of the produce is from local farms with some popular items brought in from other NW farms. The quality is great and the prices are better than the super market. I've never gone into The Barn looking for an item that they didn't have in stock. To round out their selection, they also sell fresh honey, seasonal plants and seeds. The staff are all friendly and helpful. more
