Best

Signing up for the Bootcamp was a gig deal for me, a big investment. After I did it, I got nervous, wondering if I did the right thing. But after the first day of class I knew I m...

Worst

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying ...

great training 6/27/2016

I had a great experience at the Acting Corps. It's a program with a little bit of everything that matters. They don't do sense-memory, but I've done that and it doesn't work for me. They do Meisner, and that worked well. And they do scene work. And they even teach you some about how the business works. It's not like most people think when they come to town. I have been here a few ears, so I know some, but still was much to learn. Some people in my class were very new and they really were clueless. more

Learning the ropes 6/19/2016

I'm new in LA and I'm still figuring out how things work and learning the ropes of the movie industry at The Acting Corps. I'm in Boot Camp I at the moment. I previously did theater in high school, college, did videos with friends and some community theater, so I wasn't green going in, but Meisner is new to me. It's a different way of looking at performance, and in a way, life. I gather that The Acting Corps teaches it in a slightly different and faster way then other places, and I love it. I haven't been to those other places, but I like that it's faced paced. I have never been accused of being overly patient. Also love the scene study class. Great instruction. Safe place to fail and learn from it. Love it. more

Great places to learn Meisner 6/12/2016

Meisner is the best foundation to have. Some people spend years studying Meisner, and good for them, but I'd rather get right to it like they do at The Acting Corps. It was hard for me at first because I tent to shield my pain with humor. I'm a big boy. But I learned to let things affect me and my acting is the better for it. more

No shortcuts 6/5/2016

When I first started, I wanted everything to be easy, but this is a business and it required work. The Acting Corps where you can put in hard work, and will be the better actor for it. There are no shortcuts. There is no such thing as a substitute for hard work. I also loved that they taught me more then a little bit about the business of acting, they have a class that is all about this. I loved both their Boot Camps! more

I know my acting is better because the Acting Corps 5/29/2016

I know my acting is better because the Acting Corps, a director I’ve worked with many times told me so. . I've done lots of horror films for little or no pay. I know the acting isn't what people want to see, it's the boobs and blood (not my boobs, sometimes my blood). I thought my acting was fine in them and they kept asking me back (same director), but I wasn't booking anything else. I went to the Acting Corps and leaned a lot in a short time and figured out that my acting was shallow. I'm not doing those horror films anymore- ok, I did do one, but my acting in it was better and the director even mentioned it. And I'm getting callbacks on other projects, it's just a matter of time before I book. It has only been a month, it will happen. more

great school 5/22/2016

I really liked my time at the Acting Corps. Great teachers, great classes. I learned more here then I have at any other school I have studied at. I recommend the Acting Corps to any actor looking to learn a thing or two. I've taken the things I learned there and it's helped my auditions and I have been booking like never before. more

Great place for new and old actors 5/15/2016

I've finally writing a review on here (and other sites). I took quite a bit of time looking for a place to start my training at. This wasn't a whim but I started this process a few years after high school. I did my research looking for an acting school which offered a wide variety of classes as well excellent teachers. I found both here. Acting is work, it's a business, it isn't easy. But if you work hard, listen, and practice you will learn a lot. Sometimes feedback can be hard to hear but necessary, I got taken apart a few times (but in a respectful way). It is a special and safe environment with really supportive teachers. I would recommend The Acting Corps without hesitation to any actor, beginning to experienced, as a place to learn or brush up on skills. One can never have too much knowledge and training in this business. more

Blessed 5/2/2016

I was blessed enough to end up at the Acting Corps about three months after arriving in LA. I admit, it was more luck then design on my part, but sometimes these things work out. I adore the intensity of it and that both the teachers and other students are professional and dedicated, but I guess you have to b a dedicated student if you sign up for a fave days a week program like their Bootcamp! It's also super close to my new home! more

mase the leap 4/30/2016

I've made a career as a voice actor, mostly dubbing for foreign films, but I have always wanted to act myselt, not just give voice to other people's performance (which IS acting, just a different type). Finally I made the jump and signed up for a program at The Acting Corps. I loved it! I has successes and failures, but in the end I leard more then I had expected. Now I just need to start auditioning! I still want to take more classes at The Acting Corps, I know the first "Boot Camp" just scratched the surface. more

It's all Good 4/11/2016

Just moved to Koreatown in January. Some people said it was a ad idea, by my buddy Mike said it's all good, and it is all good. Then I asked Mike where I should take classes, and he said The Acting Corps. It's all good (Mike says that a lot). It's good to have a friend who has been acting for like twenty years in Los Angeles because these are the people that know what they are talking about, and Mike was right about the Acting Corps. It was just what I needed, a mix of technique and scene work. I just finished the introductory two month boot camp. I am going to keep on with them. I'm glad I came to LA, because I was almost goig to go to Chicago, but LA iand The Acting Corps are the place for me! more

The best thing 4/4/2016

The best thing an actor can do it to take a role and make it his own. To do this, he has to the both the training and the courage to make the bold choices, and I have obtained both these things at The Acting Corps. Before I was there, I made the safe correct choices, and I never stood out. I was one in many that did the exact same thing, and now and them I would get a role just because someone had to. Now I get more roles, and it's because I did something no one else did. I don't get them all, but I know that when 9I leave the room, I gave them an interesting performance, and I have been called in for other projects based on it. more

Don't get rusty! 3/29/2016

I've been acting for awhile, but I was starting to get a bit rusty. So I marched right over (actually I drove) and signed up for a Boot Camp at The Acting Corps. My booking ration is way up now, and I know it's because I really needed a refresher in acting. Frankly, I also learned a lot of new tricks, so calling it a refresher is totally un-accurate. They are a great place for new actors, or people who have been at it awhile. more

New to town 3/21/2016

I'm new to town, only been here a few months from Indiana. I am taking Boot Camp I right now at the Acting Corps and I am learning so much so quick. Sometimes it feels like overload, but not really because I'm loving it! more

Dare to do 3/14/2016

Don't deny yourself the opportunity to learn at the Acting Corps, dare to to do it. Do it now, come on, skate on over to their site and call them up. I've personally sent two people to them and both have not regretted it. And these were my friends, I would never steer a friend wrong. True, you don't know me, but me, but just check them out, you won't regret it either. more

Michael Chekhov 2/28/2016

I really like Michael Chekhov technique! Now, to be fair, you will NOT learn this right away, they do not deal with it in Boot Camp I, but if you continue on, it's well worth it. And I also love Meisner, which is what they start with, but this is a much more mainstream technique that is taught many places (thought they have a bit of a faster take on it, which I liked). Take my advice and look into Chekhov and the Acting Corps. more

LA Native 2/22/2016

I grew up here and did lots of student and short films even back when I was just a lad. I never really took any classes, but a buddy of mine convinced me that if I wanted to take it to the next step I needed to. I landed at the Acting Corps, and they showed me the error of my ways. I am now ready to play more then bits parts. more

Training Never Ends 2/14/2016

I've been acting awhile, and before the Acting Corps, I hadn't taken classes in a few yes. I knew the basics, I got work, so I just didn't. then I decided to take a class, why not? I wasn't doing myself any favors by not taking classes, as an actor, you're training never ends. Maybe if you are constantly working you don't need to, but the rest of us should keep on learning new things. While I knew the basics, the Acting Corps had a lot more to teach me. more

Dreams come true 2/7/2016

I have always wanted to act as a career, and now I am in Los Angeles and taking classes at The Acting Corps and I love it. So educational! I have a lot to learn still, but am on the right track with The Acting Corps. Learning so much already, in the first week! Excited! more

They won me over 1/31/2016

I wasn't sure about this Meisner thing, I mean if I want guys to tell me I'm hot I'll go to a club, but once you get past that and really let it effect you, interesting stuff starts happening. What happens on the stage is what happens in the moment, raw. But what I like is that they are not all about technique, they also do scene work, so it's like one day on technique, and then a day to let it sink in. I work well that way. I rally have learned a lot at the Acting Corps. more

Great Advice 1/24/2016

My friend Mike said this was a good school, and he was right. I am not from California, and I started befriending actors here online to ask questions. Mike answered everything I asked, and said I should look into The Acting Corps. I was thinking of going to my local University and getting a BFA in acting, but I am so glad I opted to not wait four years to move to LA. I am in class at The Acting Corps five days a week learning how to act, and not wasting time with ll the other things I would be doing at a University. And I am here, in the heart of the movie industry in the mean time. As soon as I think I'm ready, I an here and can take the first steps. more
