The Abbey on Lake Wyndemere

So many things wrong with this place.... *Staff doesnt really work with you on issues at all *It takes them forever to come and fix and issue at your apartment *Issues with the sealing in the doors, carpet was never put in correctly and the stitching comes up, terrible job on the caulking in the bathroom tub to the point that it will cause mold, and a medicine cabinet that is not even straight. *There is never enough parking in the garage, EVER! *There are constant car alarms going off and kids cranking up their motorcycles *You can always here the people above you stomping around like animals, and management wont do a thing about it besides saying that's just how it is... *Valet trash seems like a great idea until it starts smelling like a dumpster in your hallways...and also in the elevators. GROSS! *Elevators are breaking all the time, cant tell you how many time you get stuck in there...really sucks when it's hot outside. *They are pretty much letting everyone move into this place. Nothing but young college kids making noise and trashing the place. This has been terrible 18 months here...cant wait to get out! Dont waste your money.....I would suggest living at Sterling Ridge Estates or The Park at Research Forest. more

I lived at The Abbey for a little over a year. In that time, multiple things in my unit broke (such as the back door, the edges of the tile into the kitchen, and the laundry room door.) All of them were reported to the office. It took them over a month to fix the back door, and they never fixed the tile of laundry room door. When I moved in, the carpet wasn't even stretched all the way to the walls, so I told them about it and they sent out a repair man to fix it. When the repair man left, the carpet looked exactly the same as it did at the start. more

The Abbey at Lake Wyndemere is reporting erroneous information about me to another community attempting to verify a rental reference. The manager is refusing to give me a copy of my account ledger, which would prove that I paid rent on time for two years. She is uncooperative in failing to verify that I gave proper notice upon vacating and I did not break a lease. I was month to month when I gave notice to vacate. Moreover, she refuses to return my rental deposit and my pet deposit and the apartment was not damaged when I moved out. I believe that this is a personal attack and I want to report this community for its malicious and unethical business practices. Furthermore, don't count on maintenance fixing anything timely as promised and they let the trash cans and dumpsters around the community over flow with trash. They don't clean the elevators or the hallways, so both smell like dog urine since the most people there have pets and they ride the elevators with them. more

We looked at several apts. in he area. We really liked the Abbey. We were excited about it. We left the deposit, application and application fee. (Fee $115.00). Came back the next day and said we were not approved. Took our fee and did not even offer any alternative. We left and found another apt a little farther out but nicer. A little more than the Abbey but they approved us right away. We move in Oct.30. Its no wonder the Abbey is less than half occupied with their standards. I guess you should not go in there wearing casual clothes. more
