The 1228 Grill

Very welcoming. The bartender has been there for every training I have had to stayed at the hotel, very professional and makes you feel welcome, luv him! If it is later in the evening he also is the waiter, great job. Good food, good service. Pros: Excellent bartender Cons: none that I could see more

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western attached to the hotel was the 1228 grill. We swung in for dinner after our daughters graduation. The hotel is directly acrossed the street from the University at Albany. There was no visible hostess so we sat ourselves, after a minute or two our server came over and greeted us. He was very friendly and gave us a few suggestions. The drinks we ordered were good, but a little pricey. My husband took the waiters suggestion of the gorganzola steak and I had a chicken entree. My husband to this day keeps talking about the steak dinner. I did take a bite and it was tasty. My chicken dinner was a little dry. The waiter however could tell I wasnt in love with my dish and immediatly brought a bourbon sauce to put on the chicken which I loved. The food portions were large so we passed on dessert. On our way out we talked about going to a movie and the server heard and printed us off the movie list and directions to the local mall. The food was good, our server was excellent. I highly recommend more
