Like attending a funeral ............. 10/31/2011

I have been going to Thai Spice for years and even make trips back to Las Vegas to take care of business once a year since I moved to Oklahoma 6 years ago always looking forward to eating at Thai Spice. This year all the way to Vegas my wife and I talked about Thai Spice and how we were so looking forward to tasting our l favorite dish of Mint Leave Chicken and/or Coconut Shrimp for lunch. With mouths drooling and so ready for out long awaited treat, we slowly read the sign on the window that ssaid ""Closed For Re-Modeling"". Our jaws droped! After traveling around 1200 miles just waiting to put a fork full of that great Thai food in our mouths, here we were standing in front of the place we had been looking forward to go for lunch and just drooling on their front window. Like a couple of hungry abandond dogs pearing into where they just knew their prayers were soon to be answered and seeing an empty room with the signs of construction going on. Sad won't cover the feeling. Now I see Bjab's comment on NEW OWNERS. It just hit me. I've had my last great meal at the Thai Spice that I loved for 9 plus years. It's almost like having just attended a funeral. more

BEWARE NEW OWNER 10/23/2011

New owner new prices. Place was clean and remodeled, first clue was a new menu. I have been eating here for over 10 years. I first notice a 20% increase in prices at minimum. Second clue the restraint is now listed as Thai and Chinese cuisine. One of us wanted Chinese food and ordered sweet and scour chicken, and it was good. My wife ordered a yellow curie dish and chicken Tum Yum soup. The curie was very salty no Thai flavor lacking coconut milk and spices. The Tum yum soup was from a can it did not have any fresh galangal root, lemon grass or lime leafs. I order a Yum Nuea beef salad Thai hot with fresh chilies. The balance was very bad no lime or lemon juice and very little fish sauce. The chilies were omitted for some hot Chile powder. The meat was what I get in a Chinese restraint well done and spongy. I will not go back, what a lost treasure. The cook must be Chinese. Hope this helps more

Great Thai 8/9/2007

The food here is authentic and tasty. Everything my family and I tried here was excellent! The Pad Thai and lettuce wraps are a must and you have the luxury of controlling the level of spice in your food. The spice level goes from mild to burn your mouth off, however, it is much spicier than you may think so start off low if you are worried about it. The restaurant's decor is nice and the place is kept very clean. The wait staff is friendly also. I highly suggest this place if you are looking for delicious food, great value, and excellent service. Pros: Delicious food, parking, great service more

Super Thai food in a simple yet elegant atmosphere 6/7/2007

Hello, this is my first posting on Citysearch ... Pros: Great food, linen table cloths Cons: Not within walking distance of my home. more

Great Thai Food!!! 11/27/2006

We moved to Las Vegas a few months ago and love dining out or ordering in. When we first ordered food from there (orange chicken and pot-stickers) we were stunned at how good it was. Have since ordered about a third of their menu and almost everything is terrific. Just don't order their vegetable soup. It tasted like a stock made just out of celery?!? Pros: Great food, convenient location, parking, price Cons: service more

Expensive Thai dishes 11/13/2006

The service was good. However, the food wasn't that great. Definitely not authentic Thai's flavor. The place is well organized, clean and roomy. There are many other better Thai restaurants in Vegas. They might not look as nice, but the food tastes so much better. It's quite expensive too. Pros: Parking, Location, Service Cons: Expensive, Food more

Would not recommed to friends 5/28/2006

Service was bad on evening we were there, ask no MSG in my food,, got it or was loaded with salt, anyway. Many more Thai places recommend lot higher. Way over rated. Cons: service, food, empty room more

Yummy 11/10/2005

The food is excellent!!!. Its close to work so we try to go often. I love it!! I've tried several dishes but my favorite will always e Pad Thai. The service is not very good at all. Its a ""Is the food that good to put up with bad service?"" - Yes. I would like to see them improve on it though. Pros: Great Food Cons: Bad Service more

Excellent food 2/9/2005

The food is definitely top-notch. If you truly want it spicy, though, you have to ask and be firm, since they do not make things spicy by default. The place was full when we arrived, and during our short wait, we read awards adorning the wall by the door. The service was somewhat slapdash, but when a member of my party who had been ill throughout the weekend was unable to finish all his food, the hostess was VERY concerned to find out if there was something wrong with food. This restaurant prides it's high quality food, but needs to work on improving it's service a bit. Pros: inexpensive, delicious food, hi-quality ingredient Cons: crowded more

Thai Spice?? 11/30/2002

My fiance and I just went and ate at Las Vegas' top rated Thai restaurant. I a still trying to find out who rated them #1. I was at first not impressed with my seating, menu tossed on a table and then walked away. The place was pretty empty, so I figured that our food would come quickly, boy was I wrong. The appetizers were tasty and interesting. We were then presented with one of our entres, not both. I suppose i would have preferred to have been served both of out entres at once. 20 minutes later (after my fiancee had finished his meal) my food arrived. My general inpression was good food, TERRIBLE service. They seemed quite a bit more interested in folding napkins and preping empty tables than serving the guests they already had. Will I eat there again...yes, take out. Pros: Pretty Good Food Cons: Horrible Service more
