Terre Quatics

If you're tired of the selection of fish at the big box stores, search no further - Terre Quatics is the single best shop in the metro - or certainly the North Metro! Knowledge & experience combine with passion for fish-keeping at Terre Quatics where you'll certainly find the most popular tropical species but more important you'll also find unique fish to enhance any tank. Today's visit was unique as I took our 14 year old Plecostomus which joined a large tank of other ""retired"" algae eaters which spend their summers in Koi ponds and winter over at Terre Quatics. I left with a baby Bristlenose Pleco, unique for its whiskers and its appetite for algae. It is also splotched in orange color! As for supplies - if you need it they can get it. While there may not be a huge stock of everything in the shop, most of your favorites are there. The shop is a pleasant place to visit, chat and learn. There are a few resident birds, a cute dog and amphibians of assorted kinds. Koi swim happily in large pools, turtles glance hungrily as you approach. It's simply a fantastic place. I very much recommend Terre Quatics to anyone in the metro. Make the drive to Champlin. You'll be glad you did! more

Teresa is honest and will not guide you wrong when it comes to caring for your fish. She will take fish that are too aggressive if you purchase it from her, to give credit for another. She gave us credit for a Jewel fish that was getting picked on by other Africans in our tank. I am sure this save its life. She carries unusual parts for things like impellers and various other parts for Marineland products and stands behind everything she sells. Pros: Knowledgable, Friendly Service, Compeditive Prices Cons: None I can think of more

The owner is Teresa and she is very knowledgable and friendly. She will not sell you what you do not need. Everything arrived a few days after the order just as she said it would. My car was not big enough for everything and her husband used their van and followed me home! Lots of fish, accessories and friendly dogs greet you at the door too! I highly recommend this store. Pros: knowledgeable, very good prices Cons: cannot think of any more

This is one of the better stores in Minnesota for sure for fresh water. they do not sell saltwater corals or fish but do sell saltwater products. Pros: very helpful nice selection Cons: no saltwater fish or corals more
