I was very excited about my planned reservation at the Temperance Tavern and very disappointed when I had to cancel due to illness. Although I gave what seemed to be adequate cancellation notice (about 48 hours), I was still charged for my reservation and told it was "policy". It would have been nice if someone had thought to disclose such a long (two-week) cancellation policy at the time I actually made the reservation. Perhaps I would have forced my ill fiance out of bed to avoid simply throwing away $162 for a night we never got to spend. The manager/owner was very short when I called to question the charge to my credit card, offered no appology for failure to disclose her "policy" and made no attempt to find a suitable solution. If customer care was this poor for me, I seriously question the level of care for those who actually get to stay there.
