Editorial review from Citysearch 8/18/2013

Overall our experience using Ted Sanders for an interstate move had some positives but was mostly negative. Hired them to pack and move the contents of our four-bedroom home and transfer to a storage facility across the country. Hired them in part because the salesman who came to our house said it was no problem to move the contents of our liquor cabinet and several large houseplants. The first day of the move went well as the workers did a good job packing. Unfortunately the rest of our experience was negative. On moving day the crew showed up late, then had the audacity to ask me to buy them lunch. They worked very slowly for most of the day, then started scrambling as 5pm approached--in the meantime they were very careless with some of our items causing significant damage. They also stopped ""tagging"" items for the inventory at around 4 pm--making it difficult for us to claim missing items on delivery with the insurance company. They initially refused to move the plants and liquor, then relented. They packed up after they thought we had left (were driving to our new home that evening) but when I circled back I saw they had simply left all the items in front of our house--so in other words lied to my face. This also posed a huge problem since I had no way of now transporting these goods off the property that was being sold. \r \r We had originally agreed to ""pay-on-delivery"", but I noticed by credit card was charged before our items were delivered--a particular problem given how much difficulty were were having resolving some of these issues. When I called the company to ask them why they charged me before delivery--against our agreement--they threatened to not deliver our items unless we pain upfront. This removed some of our leverage in not allowing a resolution to some of these issues before payment and went against the signed agreement.\r \r In the end, the movers ended up damaging several of our items, which was covered by insurance, but also lost several valuable items that we have no ""official"" record of since it was left off the inventory. While initially the company responded to calls and encouraged me to claim these missing items using the insurance, after the claims failed the company would not return phone calls. All-in--all, we feel that we were treated unfairly and carelessly by this company and would not recommend to anyone. more

Amazing service!!! 5/31/2013

The first time I needed a moving company Allied- Ted R. Sanders came to my rescue. Not only were Sarah, Marlos and Mike Sanders helpful, but they were genuine in their customer service: on time, prompt, and so careful with my valuables. I will definitely use them again! From start to finish they were 100 profession and have very reasonable prices. So if you are looking for a caring company go with these folks. Amazing! Absolutely amazing! I couldn't be more impressed and satisfied. Thank you Sarah, Mike and Marlos!!!! Sincerely, Holly F. more

On time. Took great care with our possessions. 11/12/2012

We were building a new house and sold our previous house before it was done. Ted R. Sanders moved us out of our old place, stored our stuff, and then moved us into the new house when it was ready. They were always on time and did things when they said they would. I had to move some dates around last minute and they accommodated those changes as well. The team was courteous. They took great care to make sure nothing was damaged and walls weren't dinged, especially in our new home. They did a great job. more

Flawless move! 7/22/2011

Ted R. Sanders Moving and Warehouse are great! We've used them before years ago, and thought to give them a call when we were moving this time. They sent two great fellows to move us. They were on time and professional. It really was a flawless move. When it came time to move our really big furniture out of storage and into the house, we called for the same two fellows plus one more, since it was really big furniture. Everything went smoothly and as planned. We'd use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone! more

Top notch, efficient professionals yet understanding and friendly. 4/21/2011

Ted R. Sanders Moving just completed our move from MIddle TN to Northern AZ in precisely the timeframe discussed. Mike Sanders was always available to answer any questions and he willingly provided solutions to anything that arose. Sarah provided the same level of excellent service. Three packers arrived right on schedule providing us with quick, efficient service in a polite and respectful manner. The driver, and his crew of friendly helpful young men, again arrived on time and were as polite, understanding and respectful as the packers. I would recommend Ted R. Sanders Moving without any hesitancy or reservations. Top notch A + +. Diane B., Prescott, AZ 4-22-11 more

You can count on Ted R. Sanders Moving to give you a fair price, adjust to your needs, and to professionally handle your move. 2/25/2011

Mike sanders of Ted R. Sanders Moving came out to discuss my move. He was very personable and professional. He collected all of my information and gave me a very reasonable bid. Then I threw a wrench into the plans and had to change the moving date several times. They were so nice and so willing to work with us and didn't allow the date changes to interfere with our original bid. When the time finally came to move, the team of movers was excellent. They handled it beautifully. In fact, I'm planning to move again and I've already requested that same team. I can't think of one negative thing to say about Ted R. Sanders Moving, they really are terrific! I highly recommend their services. Donah Burgess more

A good experience. 2/15/2011

Ted R. Sanders Moving and Warehouse, Inc. arrived on time and ready to work. Everything was packed up quickly and efficiently. I've only found a couple of items with dings, nothing critical though. I was happy with how things went. I would use their services again. more

I can't imagine moving with anyone else. 1/31/2011

This is the third time Ted R. Sanders Moving has moved us. They were great. They came when they said they would, and they worked hard. They are excellent to work with, and they are all really nice guys. It was a really pleasant experience. When we unloaded it was the middle of a blizzard, but they were great. I needed part of the stuff in the house and part of the stuff in a detached building. They did everything I asked them to do. I can't imagine moving with anyone else, and I can't imagine the experience being any better. Mike was wonderful to work with. Debbie Rasmussen more

Dishonest and unprofessional 10/1/2008

I would not hire this moving company again under any circumstances. I moved from Nashville to Lexington in June 08. My things were moved into a storage unit while I was waiting to buy a home. As my things were being unloaded a specifically asked the movers what I needed to do about damaged items. He told me that because things were being moved into storage I should contact the company when I moved them into my home so that things could be inspected. He then proceeded to pack things in at top speed without allowing me to inspect all items. When I did just that, I was told that event though I purchased the highest amount of insurance, they would not cover the things after they left the storage unit. I spoke with my move coordinator, Bill Bryant, who agreed that the driver had given me misinformation. He told me that he would take care of it. I patiently filled out all the paperwork that was sent to me and waited. I never heard from the company. I called a month ago, and Bill said he was busy and would get back to me. I left several other messages but never heard back. When Bill finally answered my call today, he said that I would have to call the cooperate Allied headquarters because he couldn't help me. I have now been strung along for 3 months. The company is dishonest and unprofessional and will never get my business again. Cons: dishonest, won't return phone calls more

Great job guys ! 3/5/2008

My wife and I want to thank you and your staff for helping make our move to Nashville a great experience. We were extremely fearful that our move from Florida would be a nightmare. When we researched movers on the internet most of the feedback was negative and we felt like the only choice was to find the best of the worst. Good friends of ours had moved to Wyoming a few years back and they used Allied so we opted to do the same. We were still very nervous through the negotiation process but Allied?s packers and movers in Florida allayed our fears when they handled the first part of our move from Florida. They were prompt , courteous and most of all very respectful of property we had spent years acquiring.Unfortunately we were unable to move into our new residence immediately so our belongings were stored at your warehouse in Nashville.Again my wife and I were nervous, hoping that the Nashville delivery would go as smoothly as the Florida pick up. We were not disappointed. When I called to set up the delivery date your staff had everything already in order. On the morning of delivery three of your staff showed up promptly at 9 a.m. and proceeded to unload two truckloads of our things in a remarkably professional manner. The project supervisor Brian skillfully worked with his two assistants to carefully maneuver a lot of heavy and difficult pieces into our home. When we weren?t quite certain where we wanted something to go Brian would say,"" We are here to serve you? I heard that phrase all day long as we struggled to get everything in place and Brian and his crew meant every word. Whatever we asked for they did it and they did it without any resentment or complaining. Not one piece of our belongings was damaged and not one of our many items was missing.Congratulations on a job well done. We would most certainly recommend Ted Sanders Moving and Allied Moving to anyone. You can use as a reference anytime so please do not hesitate to contact us\r Sincerely,Larry Arnkoff Pros: Courteous - Caring more

Don't trust this company 7/25/2007

My wife was given this company as an option to handle our corporate move. It was complicated, involving bringing belongings from Canada, USA and England to one location. We had a $10,000 moving allowance and made it clear that this was a hard ceiling. They botched every part of the move they touched. They failed to meet dates that were identified as critical costing us extra money in storage and rent. When asked about this, there was a figurative shrugging of shoulders and ""not our fault"" response, despite their obvious failure to organize pickups in a timely fashion. We were constantly contacting them to find out what was happening and remind them of what had to be done. We emphasized many times that the cost was fixed. When they decided that there was going to be extra cost to us, they claimed they couldn't provide paperwork to back it up. At this point, we already had the last of our belongings on a ship from England. When we said we wantred to see some sort of paperwork to back up their claim of cost overrun, their response was to say that unless we agreed to pay the driver in cash, our belongings would be put into storage until we caved in. From then on, our e-mails were simply ignored. What a childish reaction. I wrote to the president, Ted Sanders, and gave him a detailed breakdown of just some of the failures that had happened. His response was to accuse me of being sarcastic, yet he also sent me the paperwork that his son Mike had said ""didn't exist"". He also made comments that were complete lies. Clearly, they were excuses he was given and didn't challenge. We finally paid the ransom to release our belongings. There was at least one bill that didn't even have anything to do with us. We didn't recognize any company named on it. It probably belonged to somebody else that was paying for their move themselves and that Ted thought should ""get a break"" subsidized by somebody getting financing. These guys are just incompetent and dishonest. Pros: I really can't think of any Cons: Dishonest, lazy, incompetent more

Best Mover I Know 4/7/2006

This Company moved me and damaged one item. They paid me 60 cents per lb. because I did not buy their insurance. I don't expect something for nothing. I was very pleased! They worked 3 days moving my 6,000 sq. ft. home and I recommend them to everyone. Don't complain about not getting paid for items if you don't buy the insurance. Pros: professional, careful, polite Cons: late arriving more
