Editorial review from Citysearch 7/10/2012

We have been here 6 years and are very happy! This family owned and operated child care facility was where we selected to send our first child well before she was born after researching all the programs in The Woodlands area. They were easy to work with as I wanted to breastfeed and make my own baby food. When my daughter turned three she had learned so much that she was easily accepted into the private school of our choice. Three and a half years later we elected to send our son here as well. My daughter goes back during breaks and in the summer and loves seeing all her old friends and teachers. The qwners are at TAT every day. Many of the teachers that were there when we started 6 years ago are still there as well as the school Director. They offer many engaging age appropriate activities and field trips for the older children as well as home cooked meals and snacks at an extremely affordable rate. I have referred friends and co-workers to send their children to TAT. Also, after reading some of the other posts I must say all entrances and exits to the school are chimed/alarmed and security has never been a concern for our family. more

Very tired Daycare...needs Help! 2/15/2012

I did not do enough research before I enrolled my child. Honestly, I was concerned from the very begining about the lack of security in the building. The front door is always open and it is steps from the first classroom. Sometimes the staff is in the back office, so anyone could just run in and have access to the kids...The place is run like a home daycare, that is the attitude I get. It is dark and quiet, no ""hapiness"" in the place. The colors are drab and dreary. Not one time have I heard music played when I was in the building. There was always kids screaming and running around. No structure when I was there. The teachers for my child's class were way too young and inexperienced. Many times the teacher was not there early in the morning so she was taken to the nursery room, she cried every time I left her. I never received an accurate report for the day. They just seemed to list the menu available, not what my child actually ate. The menu for lunch and snacks was horrible. A 12 month old should not be eating brownies! And I don't understand how saltine crackers and water would be considered a good snack for any human, let alone a baby. Why would you feed that to a baby? Where is the nutrition in that? Shocking. It seems like everyone working there is like part of an extended family or a click, not a professional business. There were random people in and out that don't work there. My child was sick the first week and had slight diaper rash the 2nd week. The place needs to have a total overhaul. They should start with their building, their staff needs to be more experienced and properly trained, there needs to be a curriculum for learning, a nutritious menu, and security needs to be put in place. more

To enroll or not to enroll? 1/14/2012

The teachers there are young and inexperienced and their turnover rate for teachers is high. Some of the staff yell at the children. 90% of the staff have bad attitudes and if you don't see it at first, you will eventually. They claim to have a cirriculum, but the only evidence of this I have seen are color sheets. My child never learned anything there. They claim to strictly abide by state regulations, but there are certain issues that they didn't even consider it. The only comments you will likely hear about your child are negative, they don't give you any positive updates. The way I saw some of the other children treated made me wonder how mine was treated and talked to when I wasn't there. The choice is yours. If you are looking for a mediocre daycare, teach a tot would be perfect for you but if you are looking for a place with friendly staff who love their children and their job, you are in the wrong place. more

Most unprofessional Management I have ever seen... 1/13/2012

The teachers are good but the management is totally unprofessional, and uneducated! It started off as a good daycare facility but the management staff is rude, and they do not care about the children. They are just plain lazy! Everyday that I walked into that day care the management was very overwhelmed, as if they could not handle it and this did not give me a good feeling about leaving my child there! more

GREAT Child Care! 2/16/2007

My 7 month son went to Teach a Tot and I was very happy with the facility (we moved to Sugar Land, so we had to switch to another facility). Every time I picked up my son, he was being interacted with and was always happy. Any time another child got upset, the caretakers immediately addressed the issue. They have always provided me with his daily recaps and have taken a real interest in helping him develop his motor skills. I only wish I could have taken them with me to Sugar Land.
