Taylor Made Smiles

I wish I had never gone to Dr. Taylor. Her office is lovely, paraffin for your hands, but I felt pressure to have a lot of work done, and decided to get a second opinion after some crowns, a root canal, and now have stayed with my current dentist. A crown she did cracked after 2 years, and when I inquired with Dr. Taylor she said she would not warranty the work, and made it sound like I had done something to compromise this expensive crown. I am not excessively hard on my teeth, and most dentist I have talked to since say they should last lots longer. She is curt, cold, and her billing staff makes you feel like a dollar sign by calling in between cleanings to see if I am ready to have more work done on my teeth. Dr. Taylor talks about implants, etc. very expensive things, and I felt I had to tell her I was very conservative, and wanted to maintain the integrity of my teeth as long as possible. I have a pretty smile, my teeth are straight, I just had cavities as a child, and I do realize that they may need work now. Her hygienist was great, friendly, helpful, and I felt did a great job. I just didn't like Dr. Taylor not talking to me personally, when I called to tell her about my broken crown, and acting like I was out of line for being upset it had broken so early. I am not a rich person, and felt it was worth a conversation inquiring about the lab's work, perhaps they used cheaper materials (made in China), or it was made with mistakes in it? I felt it would have been fair, compassionate, and helpful to discuss these things. She is a good business woman making sure you sign and see the photos of your teeth and crown, but after a while I felt it was more to cover her tracks. Sometimes when she would show me the photos, as a lay person I can't recognize what is wrong and what isn't, your mouth at 500 times does not look pretty. I feel as a business woman that if my work failed I would want to know the circumstances and own up partially to perhaps the anomaly of what went wrong. This is fair, I expected her to be fair. Next time get her to sign to holding up her end of her work is my advice to any of you who want to be her patient. more

When we moved here 3 years ago, we chose a dentist based on slick marketing and an $89 full exam. After dealing with constant urging to have countless (and expensive) procedures done, we decided we had enough. My husband and I along with our two teenage daughters all moved to Taylor Made Smiles and will be lifelong patients.\r \r Amanda is a fantastic hygenist and makes even the dentist-averse members of the family feel comfortable. \r \r We have had crowns, gum repairs, cavities filled and general check-ups. All work is fully explained in advance and cost estimates are accurate. \r \r Dr. Missy and her staff have patients for life with our family and I highly recommend them. more

Great experience! If Dr. Missy had been my dentist when I was a kid I would not be scared of the dentist today. Gigi was very kind and helped me understand my situation, Dr. Missy allowed me to ask questions and decide which treatment option was best for me. I had Dr. Taylor put four veneer's on my front upper teeth in 2007. When she put them on she cracked one of them while putting it on, I had to wait an additional 2 weeks for another one to come in. Then when she put that one on it also had a hairline crack in it - It wasn't visible and I was tired of waiting so I agreed to let it be. One of the other veneer's was brown on the top and I complained about the color but she told me it was dried blood underneath that got under there when she put the veneer on. Now it is 2011, only 4 years later. I paid over $5000.00 for four veneers and they only lasted 4 years! The hairline crack is now cracked all the way through and the brown that was at the top of the other veneer Dr. Taylor says (4 years later that it is decay now). However, Dr. Taylor does not stand behind her work performed 4 years ago and wants to charge me nearly $1500.00 per tooth to have them redone! She is snarly, difficult and unreasonable in her practice. Go to Sara Northcutt and her practice they are much more professional and better at what they do - Denistry and business! more

Taylor Made Smiles is a wonderful dental experience...even if the the thought of a dentist visit gives you anxiety! The staff is professional, understanding and very comforting. Amanda is the best hygenist I have ever experienced! You even get a complimentary parrafin hand treatment...aahh. more

Taylor Made Smiles is located in the heart of downtown Franklin. While traffic is sometimes an issue the quality of care offered by Dr. Taylor and her staff is unparallelled. Comfort and communication are always in the forefront of their patient care. They all just do great work! more

Dr. Missy and her staff are excellent. I have had 1 crown and 4 fillings with them, and everything turned out great. They are right there for you from the minute you walk in the door and are always asking if they can get you anything. The services are great and when they know you are in a rush/have something to get done, they work with you. They also worked with me numerous times on rescheduling my appointments when I could get it. They also explain everything very well and understand that some people dislike the dentist (like myself!). Overall...this is a great dentist and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. more

Dr (if thats what you wanna call her) Taylor, messed up my teeth. I went to another dentist that told me that a majority of the work that was done by Taylor wasnt needed. Its a sad day when you cant trust a dentist to do honest work because of money. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION BY ANOTHER DENTIST BEFORE YOU GET A ROOT CANAL!!!! It always seems like root canals are the first option here when they should be the last. At over $1,000 each, you cant help but to wonder why. more

The staff made me feel comfortable from the 1st phone call. The office is unlike any dental office I have ever been in. The down home friendly atmosphere almost made me forget the reason for my visit to the dreaded dentist, two new crowns. The staff did their best to reassure and make me feel comfortable. I was nervous and Dr. Missy quickly put me at ease. She explained everything so well and was both, very personable, as well as professional. I was in and out with 2 new crowns that same day, remarkable! I feel very relieved that I will no longer spend weeks procrastinating my next visit. No one should be nervous going to visit Dr. Missy. Having worked in dentistry for many years I am very picky about who has their hands in my mouth! Dr. Missy's office came highly reccommended to me by a past employer of mine. I found her and her staff to be very up to date on the latest tecnology in the field and very good about relaying the information to me in relation to my care in her practice. I know enough about dentistry to know to appreciate a general dentist knowing when to send a patient to a specilist. They are there for a reason and if a general dentist truly cares about their patients they will use the specilist to better serve the patients needs. Dr. Missy and her staff ""know their stuff"". And I owe her my deepest gratitude for knowing how to handle my dental needs. My experience will allow me to recommend her practice to any of my family and friends and know they are in good hands! I am a phobic patient, and have hear all about these dental spas and things and didn't really buy in to the fact that their could be a place where I would get the best dental care (that I knew I was in need of) and it be a comfortable experience for me. I was invited in and was given a cup of coffee to sip on while I was finishing my paperwork. I was relieved to see that this was a more home like setting, not at all like a ""normal"" dental office. Once to my cleaning Gigi was wonderful in helping to educate me to my dental needs and how I can do better. After that, the Kaitlin walked me through what I should expect for my insurance to help with so that I what know in advance, and helped me to get scheduled around my crazy life. \r At my next appointment, I had to have a Root Canal. I was scared because I knew all the horrible stories that other people had told me. They got me back, gave me a blanket and some head phones and I was able to just zone out and relax. It was wonderful!! And I never thought I would be able to say that about a dental office. I had gone to Taylor Made Smiles to get some work done on a tooth that was injured in a car wreck. The tooth was cracked and was in need of a crown. I had been referred to Dr. Taylor's office from a friend and decided to check it out. Once arriving, I was greeted by the wonderful staff. The office was very pleasing in appearance which is always a plus to me since I was expecting to wait for awhile seeing that it is a doctor's office. In this case, the wait was minimal. Once back in the room, one of Dr. Taylor's staff initially looked to see what going on with my tooth. Dr. Taylor then came in and it looked at the tooth and gave me my options for getting it repaired. After getting a quote on cost, I rescheduled for a time later that month. Dr. Taylor was able to put a crown on the damaged this following visit and the sensitivity was gone. My experience there was great and I will definately be back. Pros: Great Experience more

I was in town visiting family a couple of weeks back and broke a tooth and was in a lot of pain. My cousin that I was visiting recommend Dr. Missy. I called and they were able to get me in that day. When I arrived the staff was very friendly. I ended up needing a crown and thought that I was going to have to wait until I got back to my hometown to get it fixed but Dr. Missy made time for me that day and I got my crown that same day! I didn't even know you could get a crown the same day but Dr. Missy has a new machine that makes crowns in office and it was awesome! My husband and I went to Taylor Made Smiles for a check-up and we both had to have some work done. I had an on-lay put on a tooth, and a cavity filled. My husband also had a cavity filled. We both went back for multiple adjustments on ALL the work we had done by Dr. Taylor, and it seemed they could never get it right. It was a very frustrating (and painful) experience. We ended up going to a new dentist and I had to have work done again on both the teeth Dr. Taylor worked on. The new dentist finally got it right! No adjustments even needed! \r \r Taylor Made Smiles is a very nice facility, TVs in all the rooms, spa-like treatments available, and the staff is all very friendly, but the actual work we had done our teeth seemed lacking in quality. more

Unlike any other dental experience I have ever had. From the time I stepped in the door I knew this would be a positive experience. The staff is very friendly,helpful and professional. Dr. Missy (this is what she likes to be called) was very upbeat ,caring,thorough and professional. Truly I have never been so relaxed in a dental office. Thanks for a great dental experience! more
