Tan It Up

This is the best place to tan in San Antonio! The salon is clean, the lamps are new, the employees are very friendly and helpful and the owner, Steven, always remembers your name. I was not pushed in to buying a membership or lotion. I walked in and got what I wanted without being haggled! After a few weeks of taning I decided to try the airbrush tanning and I love it. The color was great and it went on evenly. I got comments on my tan for two weeks. I am hooked! I found this salon by the review previously posted and felt that I should post one to say that this truly is a great business. I will refer anyone looking for a wonderful salon to Tan It Up! I had no real issues w/ this tanning salon (other than the fact that there's only one location) for the first year of using it. I was in a contract and was diagnosed with cancer about a year after I had started going there. I had to move out of San Antonio for a while and obviously was unable to use the salon. My boyfriend tried to contact the salon to stop my contract and electronic funds transfer due to medical reasons, offered to get medical notes from my oncologist, etc. Steven (the owner) refused to let him, said I had to personally come into the salon to stop the contract. How could I do that when I was in MD Anderson in Houston? Steven was a real jerk, even after I got back to SA and followed up on my own. I had been looking for a good tanning salon in San Antonio, there were none were I live off i35. I had been with TANCO for a year, and my bill was out of controll. Darque Tan is always trying to make a sale and i hated going in there. Tan It Up is the best place to tan in San Antonio. The staff always greets you, and i rarley have to wait. Unlimited use of all the beds, plus and stand up bed, and 2 spary tans a month for 40 dollars is a great deal. Doesnt get much better then that. I love this place so much that I will return every month, and I tell all my friends to go check it out becuase this place is just the best.\r \r Andrew R. You always feel welcome here. No sales pitch. I started going here 4 years ago with a suggestion from my roommate. I moved out of the city, and recently came back to SA. The owner is very nice, and always greets you. The place has been remodeled since I first started going and could not look better! This has got to be the best tanning salon I have visited in San Antonio AND Houston. The prices are great and there is NO sales pressure at all...but even better- the service is phenomenal, the atmosphere is private, the salon is super clean, the beds are high powered, comfortable, and clean! The owner always remembers you and never hesitates to strike up a conversation- very personable! The beds feel like they ""hug"" you. You can listen to whatever radio station you want- more than just 2 preset stations to choose from- or even bring in a CD and you can listen to that! The prices are the lowest around- on the tanning and the lotions! I would highly recommend this salon to everyone. Once you try it, you won't want to go anywhere else! Been to a few of those ""chain"" salons. They all feel like a ""chain"" salon. Kind of like the Wal Mart of tanning salons combined with a high-pressure Amway sales pitch. Tan-it-Up is obviously different. If the owner isn't there you'll still experience excellent, discreet personal service from the staff. The beds are always sanitized and the linens are fresh & clean. The best part is there's no pressure to lock you in to a service you don't always need. I'd highly recommend this place and I wish they'd build more of them! I was searching for a tanning salon again. I then remebered my good friend told me she went to this establishment. This by far is a very clean,friendly,no pressure sales, and relaxing salon. You get in and you get out. Like the other viewer, I have been a member of Tanco, former Absoult Tan now Darque Tan. This salon exceeds by far. I recently got my sister to sign a membership for a month. Even though I live NW, the travel is worth it. So pleased! Defintely will recommend this tanning salon. Pros: Great staff and beds. more

I adore this place.There is never any pressure to buy anything.The beds have given me a nice long lasting tan that I was unable to get at my previous tanning salon.The owner is a friendly guy, the type to remember your name and your tanning preferences.\r 6 months ago I moved away from N.W. Military/West to the medical center , but I still choose to drive across town to go to this tan salon as opposed to the many within a block of me.I will be moving back to Houston in May and 'Tan It Up' is by far the thing I will miss most about SA. I have been to just about every big chain salon in san antonio. tan it up is not a big chain, but is very clean, has great customer service and most of all has NO high pressure sales techniques. i can actually relax when i tan. the beds are brand new, i got more tan in one week at tan it up than a month at the other places.
