Consistently the Best! 1/25/2011

Extremely good sushi! I have never eaten anything there that i have been unhappy with. The reviewers who were unhappy completely baffle me. I have been eating there for 10 years and have never had a bad experience. My favorites: The Pink Lady, Black and Gold, Wasi, spicy tuna, Beef Noodle Soup, hot banana pepper beef. Wonderful food, wonderful service. more

Only at Tai-Pei Toyko 12/19/2010

Bruce, Heather, and the entire staff are the most welcoming staff you could ask for! By the third visit you feel like you are dining with family. \r The Rolls are the best! The Pink Lady, and Wasi!, will have you licking the plate!!!!! In all my travels I have not found anyone who could match the exciting tastes and textures found in the Pink Lady. I have “turned on” many of my friends. They drive from all over the area to treat themselves to this wonderful dining experience.\r The egg drop soup is the best I have ever had. I order it in most places and here it just rocks!\r The sushi is the freshest and wonderfully prepared.\r Everything is fresh and wonderful.\r If you have problems here, you most likely find fault everywhere!\r more

Disappointed 9/18/2010

I ordered hot and sour soup and shrimp lo mein today. The soup was bland. The lo mein was a little burned and has a smoky and bitter after taste. It got stronger after a few bites. My husband's and friends' dinners were fine. I told the waiter about the burning taste. His reply was what you want me to do about it; there is nothing I can do. I'm not a picky eater. One bad dish doesn't stop me from trying other items on the menu. But the attitude ruined my experience. I will not go back to this restaurant. more

Poor Service 12/2/2009

I have received on numerous occasions’ poor service, i.e., not being welcomed in this restaurant. Today, I got there before my party, and was asked to have a seat. Then a woman came in after me, and was told to look around, see if her guest were in the restaurant???? When my party arrived we were asked if we wanted to be seated in the rear of the restaurant, when there were tables up front. We watched the owner go to other tables and have a conversation, but didn’t bother to come to our table. We watched the owner thank others for coming in, but no one, no one thanked us. The food is good, but not worth the bad feelings we experienced. Thanks but no thanks, I’ll spend my money where I am welcomed. more

amazing is an understatement! 9/16/2009

The best chinese and asian food, not only in the city but anywhere. My husband is active duty military and we look for good chinese in every city we end up in and none have ever come close to taipei. The owners are amazing, the food to die for, and they will make authentic dishes that aren't on the menu if you ask. This was my husband's first stop and first meal when he came home from iraq more

Highest Quality Chinese and Japanese near Pittsburgh 6/17/2008

They have the highest quality popular Chinese cuisine and Japanese sushi dishes close to Pittsburgh. I've dined at Taipei Tokyo over 100 times and never had 1 bad meal. They always offer great seasonal maki and the waiters have many non-menu items to recommend for the more adventurous. \r \r They have a very good liquor and beer selection to go with the meals, including some of the freshest 20oz steel Sapporo cans in the city. \r \r The atmosphere is a bit strange (pink neon and pink seats), but it grows with you. \r \r Japanese Items of interest: ""Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Lunch"", ""Spicy Crunch tuna Roll"", ""Spider Roll"", ""Volcano Roll"", and the Best ""Dynomite Roll"" in the city. \r \r Chinese Items of interest are: Fresh sea bass with Ginger Scallion Sauce.\r \r Lunch is affordable, and dinner offers some options to splurge on if you want to show off. If you want to make a good impression on somebody who has never tried Japanese or Chinese food, this is a good place to take them. Pros: Very Fresh, Very High Quality Sushi. Huge Chinese Menu. Great fish, very nice waitstaff. Cons: Needs more japanese items on the menu. more

Monroeville's Best Kept Secret 11/10/2005

We've been going there for years, and so glad to find a way to share our love of this restaurant! Friendly, quick, excellent food, great prices, wide selection... can't say enough. Even the funky pink neon lights add a little something to the place, along with beautiful cut glass accents. The sushi bar looks like an outdoor oasis. Pros: Will cook to order, Quick & friendly, Show off this find! more

Great Food & Service 7/12/2004

The food is wonderful, and there is something for everyone. Sushi lovers are in heaven, and the traditional chinese and japanese dishes are great. The portions are generous, and the price is very reasonable. The owners are there most of the time which is probably why the service is so attentive. Never an empty water glass here. Pros: Great food, Great Service, No Waiting more

the very best Sushi you will eat. 2/4/2003

This is the best in the area for Sushi... The quality is outstanding. If Sushi is not to your taste then you can't go wrong with the Oriental cuisine... Once again the freshness is out of this world. If you dont see something on the menu just ask... The owners are more than willing to make whatever it is you would like or adjust one of their dishes to suit your taste. The staff is friendly and efficient... It will be a dining experience that will have you coming back over and over. more
