Ok, so the advice I have received in writing this review is to write it as if I am writing to a good friend...so here goes: 1) The sales gal, although very cheerful, over sold the service & told me it was something it was not. 2) When I contacted the staff they turned their lack of getting me out onto me which I bought the 1st time around. I set my availability correctly & called regularly 7 they still only got me out on 1 dinner EVERY other month & 1 blind date EVERY 3 months. 3) The events fill up quickly & I have been denied 80% more times than being allowed to attend. 4) You don't choose when or where you want tol go out you have to cross your fingers to be choosen to go out on a dinner, date or event. 5) There are WAAAAY more women than men. About 80% more! I do meet guys everytime I actually get to attend a function (it has been 2 dinners, 1 Just for dinner & 1 event in a total of 6 months of membership). 6) Don't take this as a complaint, I am just stating my experience so those who are thinking of joining realize they will go out once in a great while. If that is ok with you then this service is right for you. As for me, I could care less...I have a full life with dates & friends before joining that I realized I can't keep up with it all anyway. 7) Don't let the cute sales staff fill you up with too much fluff... so I joined this thing because I am new in town & thought I could meet some decent looking women. so far there has not been one that is my type. without trying to seem offensive (just trying to protect my good lookin' brothers) the women don't really workout or dress well. they seem to hide under baggy sweaters (& the male members ALL are nodding their head w/ me right now). so I gave up on the dinners. then I went to the events & the ladies were all 20 years older than me. so I started the table for two & they kept setting me up with heavy women. no I am not shallow, but I workout everyday, am fit & want someone who values her health just the same, so it's not about looks, but allowing herself to feel like a lady. so guys, don't say I didn't warn you, it was an expensive, VERY expensive mistake. I just joined Table for Six 2 months ago & am having a grand ole' time. I have always met someone at each dinner, sometimes it is was a guy, but sometimes it is a great new girlfriend to go shopping with or out to brunch. I haven't gone to any of the events (but the oyster bbq sounds like my speed) & have participated in the 6 people dinners & table for two both of which I did meet great people. The bottom line is that you have to not take yourself seriously & have a good time so others will want to be around you. I recommend this club to social people because if you are not then noone will talk to you. The staff is young & fun so you you are guarenteed a good time. Cheers! After spending another Christmas alone I decided to join a dating service. I choose this club because of all the things going on. I am a guy that has not had a problem meeting women...some of them are on the same page as I am & others aren't. BUT it takes going out a couple of times to figure this out. I think a huge problem with this club is that a lot of members will not give someone a 2nd chance & blame the company. I am not trying to endorse the company, but I can see how much Ashley, Lyndsay & Julia (they're all cuties) put into us members so I do not understand why other reviewers rate the service badly. If you tell them what you want they will provide it, if you don't they can't, after they are not psychic. Same with dating. If you tell others what you want & what you are about you WILL get it. I know people who have used Table For Six and have had bad experiences. Apparently they claim to be good at matchmaking, but all they do is put three men and three women together at a table and hope for the best. This means that they don't take much of the applicant's requests into consideration and people tend to be disappointed with this service. Anyway, how can they claim they will set you up with the right person when the program is based on sending you out to a dinner every week. It seems to be a cattle call approach. It's also very expensive. I'd rather play the lotto. Also, seems weird they get so defensive in some of their responses. Good luck to you either way. more

You've always got to wonder what's behind the motivation behind someone defending a service like this - like the last reviewer. Hmmmm . . . Well, I can tell you personally that the service Table For Six provides has lots of room for improvement. My experience was dreadful. The staff has been inattentive, the host at the restaurants are disorganized, the caliber of women I've dined with is low and altogether the service has been a huge disappointment. I could think of alot better things to do with $3,495.00, like give it to the poor, or the rich, or anyone else but someone who doesn't deserve it. I do not feel as though the promises made during my "sales" presentation were met. Not even close. I continue to get promises, but little delivered. Have you ever been to a clown show? I just read the review about Table for Six from Tommy R. I'm not sure if he's talking about Table for Six , or just his own insecurities about meeting woman. I'm a 30 something woman and considered very attractive and have had tons of dates with Table for Six members. There's always been plenty of men to choose from, not nerds, just great guys. Maybe Tommy is just worried and nervous about the whole dating scene, but, I'd advise him to relax and quit being such a downer. Anyway, I'm still dating one of the guys, so, I'm happy! more

As a woman member for over 1 year, I have learned that I was grossly misrepresented when I joined. Unfortunately, I cannot get out of the contract and have consequently wasted about $2,000. Initially, the person that signed me up represented that I would be matched up with different men every dinner and that they would match my criteria ... often times I have been matched up with the same people that DO NOT meet my criteria. One man told me that he "won" a membership through a dating class, another man told me he was given free membership. You do not have dinner dates every week, as represented ... it may be once a month that they even place you on a table for six dinner. I also learned that T46 does not perform any kind of background check on the men, as was told to me when I joined. Believe me ladies, keep your money. more

All of the staff I met with were very helpful and professional as well as very attentive. On my second dinner I met a really cute girl who I've been seeing for the past six months! I have been a member of table for six for about one year now, and I have to say it is money well spent. At the time I joined the club, I was new to the city, and didn't have many contacts or friends here. The Bay Area is a difficult place to get to know people. Before I joined, I would spend my weekends alone at home. After I joined, I started getting out alot more on the weekends, and meeting some really nice people. The members are all very friendly and welcoming. It was a nice change from the attitude I was getting at the clubs and singles bars. I have dated about 6 different women in the last year, Not everything always works out, but I have learned alot. My current girlfriend I met though Table for Six, and we have been going out for about 3 months now. We have a real connection with each other, and I know I never would have met her except though table for six. In short, table for six is a fantastic way for guys to meet attractive friendly women in the Bay Area. Pros: Great Events, Friendly Staff, Nice Members more

I have asked other Table for Six members and this is the consensus. Women are charged more than men because there are fewer men than women. Cost varied from $2000-$3000 per year. Event attendees are primarily women so your chances of meeting someone are slim, that is, if you can get on the schedule for an event. Men are told that there are twice as many women as men when they sign up; however, the ratio of men at events is typically 15%. Most members are older 50+. Your chances of meeting someone depends on the number of people who are activity involved. The employees are nice and are excellent marketers dont be fooled! Cons: $2000-$3000 is not woth it more

I joined in December 2005. My friends paid 1995 but they charged me $3000! And I didn't even get to pick the women I wanted to date! The entire time I was a member they changed match makers three times, each time it was some teenage girl with no experience. NOT worth the money and when I expressed my displeasure, I was told I would not receive a refund. Save your money! Pros: The Staff is Cute! Cons: The Staff is Inexperienced! more

I joined in September 2005, with hopes of meeting other singles, I found that it was nearly impossible to schedule dinners or events, and when I finally got into a dinner, I spoke with another woman who had the same problem. The staff made numerous promises to me but there was little follow-through. I eventually asked for my money back and they promised to send me a check for 1/10 of the enrollment fee, however the check did not arrive. Unless you want to kiss a large sum of money goodbye for nothing, I recommend that you stay away from Table for Six! Spend your money directly on the activities that you love! Joined in December 2005 and so far have been scheduled for only 1 dinner. They could not assemble dinners the 2 other times I requested, and, I had to call them. I am an African American woman, professional, and in the "prescribed" age range and was initially told I would have "no problem" in meeting people. However, that is not the case in terms of them being able to arrange dinners. I have yet to partake of any activities, but do plan to. So, if you want to spend a lot of $$ to "maybe" go to dinners and spend more, and then sign up for activities and spend more... then this is for you.... Table for Six is a wonderful opportunity to meet fresh new people in a wonderful setting...I have net numerous men and women that always provide unique outlooks on life, career, vacations and romance. Table for Six offers singles who want to meet other singles some GREAT options!! The idea was apparently founded by providing the opportunity to dine with 5 other interesting people of similar ages that you may never had met any other way--3 men, 3 women--and you eat in great SF restaurants you maybe haven't even tried yet. Since you meet a Table for Six hostess at the restaurant, and you pay only your own tab, all ackward moments are eliminated too. I love that you meet other interesting singles with great diversities of professions and interests. Table for Six also offers wonderful adventures, activities, and even weekends away with larger groups! I'm in my early 20's and joined T46 as a way to meet people in the city. So far they seem to have had a very tough time matching me up with people under 30, despite promising me there were "700 women members under the age of 27" when I signed up. To date I've met 2 people (one of each gender) within my requested 22-28 age group, despite going on a few dinners and events, all of which I was promised would be people in my requested age group. more
