This was a first time experience, but I have to say that we were greatly disappointed in the quality of the food and atmosphere. We expected more from this 'legendary' restaurant, including the service. The food was at,best, re-heated frozen dinners, for those who still have taste buds. Plus the service was a joke. Felt like I was at a buffet. This is strickly for a 60+ crowd, with $$$$. more

I love this place, upscale but relaxing. Very "Palm Beach." I do suppose that is why they have been open nearly a century. more

Had a 2nd BAD meal today. Wev'e been eating there for many years and it was always good. Had a terrible dinner, unaccomadating waitress, blaming everything on kitchen, if we wanted to swap a sidefdrom a similar dish, \r she said we could NOT. \r \r Today at lnch, the $16 salads were miniscule...looked smaller than an apperizer salad. They left out a few printed ingredients, and their usually delish rolls, were stale, and rubbery. The waiter was nice, but not well trained. he did not know what PLAIN Balsamic vinegar was. Was asked to leave salad dressing on the side, but the salada came soaking in dressing. \r \r The restrooms were not clean. Toilets were a MESS\r We all were wondering if the restaurant was sold recently?\r \r As it stands now, we will never eat there again! more

Want to go back to the 40's or 50's? Then drop by this legendary PB watering hole/restaurant. The food is always good. The service, attentive. The average age of the clientele is well north of 50, but thanks to plastic surgery, you may not even notice. more

A Palm Beach Landmark 9/10/2010

Ta-boo has been a Palm Beach staple for many years, popular with locals and visitors alike. The bar scene is lively, the menu extensive with a wide range of price points. Staff is attentive and personable. Ask for a table overlooking Worth Avenue for the best people-watching spot in Palm Beach. Keep an eye out; you might see Rod Stewart. more

A Worth Avenue staple and landmark! I love this place! The interior decor is so sexy/tropical British Columbia lush. Very classic Old Palm Beach, feels like you are in a movie from the past years in Palm Beach, FL roughly around the 1930-1940's. My salad is always fresh and delicious topped with juicy grilled chicken. The Iced Tea is a MUST. It is some kind of tropical tea and addicting. Very nice wait staff, they do get a little sidetracked with other customers though, so you do tend to get neglected. Hostesses are extremely unfriendly. Overall it is an Old Palm Beach staple and landmark that needs to be tasted & experienced by all! more

Anyone who dines knows that no place if perfect, but Taboo sets the bar for top notch food, service, and memory making\r times. I love the asian flare that Taboo slips into its food and atmosphere. The team at Taboo does a great job making people feel comfortable. Even high profile celebrities can enjoy themselves with their family and friends without a fear of bother. Taboo is consistent, pleasurable, and filling. The deserts are great if you save room.\r \r L more

My first time at this restaurant, but accompanied by two women who are fairly regular clients. I haven't encountered a ruder hostess/reservation taker in many years. She was incredibly rude to my elderly friend. Out of hearshot of my friend, a politely whipered to her "that was quite rude" to which she replied "well she was rude to me". Clearly not well trained. But then again, this is Florida, not New York, so I guess it should be expected.\r Food was very good, service was good, manager offered dessert as a peace offering, which was kind but not offered properly.\r \r Overall, good food, good service, fair management, terrible greeter/hostess. more

Terrible first impression -- 2/6/2009

My first time at this restaurant, but accompanied by two women who are fairly regular clients. I haven't encountered a ruder hostess/reservation taker in many years. She was incredibly rude to my elderly friend. Out of hearshot of my friend, a politely whipered to her ""that was quite rude"" to which she replied ""well she was rude to me"". Clearly not well trained. A second seater/greeter was more polite. One would think that the hostess, as first impression of a restaurant, would be better trained and able to deal with an elderly woman with more finesse. But then again, it's a lunch place in Florida, not Le Bernadin, so I guess it should be expected. Food was very good, service was good, manager offered dessert as a peace offering, which was kind but not offered properly. Pros: Saw Regis Philbin. Cons: Rude hostess, fair management. more

Great History Great Place 5/7/2008

On Worth Avenue in Palm Beach what can I say. We enjoy places with history and this one has it in spades, had a fine dinner. Good service sat at the bar. enjoyed it. more

When you come to Taboo, you can expect slow, but personable service. It's a great place to put your bags down and take a break from shopping. You can also often find representatives modeling Worth Avenue's fashion designers' latest lines. While I have noticed that the quality of the food has gone down over the years, Taboo is still a great place for a bloody mary, a glass of wine or some people watching. Pros: Bloody Mary, Wine List, Atmosphere, Location Cons: Food went downhill more

Bad Service and Poor Experience 4/17/2006

My parents were visiting from NY and we heard Taboo was a terrific place for lunch. Our waiter was unresponsive and outright hostile. We asked him about the status of our lunch ordered 45 minutes ago and his response was ""it's the seared tuna. I don't work in the kitchen. What do you want me to do about it?"" Wrong answer for such an establishment. When the order did finally arrive after 1 hour, the tuna was raw (we asked for it medium well) and the mushrooms with an odd taste. Others there seemed equally upset with their experience. The managers were nowhere to be found, allowing for such horrible service. No thank you on leaving the establishment and a manager who had to be sought out to provide feedback. Atmosphere only goes so far. Frankly, I've had better service and food at CPK. Pros: decorations, location Cons: rude, inedible more
