This teacher is great; I started taking lessons with him 8 months ago and have really enjoyed my time with him. I was a complete novice when I first started and didn't really know what to expect, given that I've never had a teacher before, but I have been very pleased with everything. The teacher creates custom lesson plans for me, and gives me new things to work on every time I come in. That said, I can't stress enough the importance of practicing on your own. No matter how great the teacher, you'll never get good without putting in the time. more

I would definitely recommend you 11/28/2012

I would definitely recommend you because you actually want the student to understand the guitar and the music — you don't just teach a few superficial tricks to placate those who have no real desire to learn to play guitar. more

I have been trying to learn guitar on and off for many years. I took a class in college for guitar 101, and have had two other teachers. This one is the best thing that could have happened to me. I got exercises to do daily that helped me get my fingers to do the right things. Within a two weeks, I could sort of play and sing four of the songs in the book that I brought with me of songs I wanted to play. more
