Surprisingly Amazing 4/21/2013

My son has had surgery at TMC twice, (make sure to read the whole review lol) the first time was a few years ago and the second time was 2 days ago. Our first surgery visit was horrible, many problems with the staff, the room, service, even the surgeon, I could go on forever. This visit however was amazing Hince the title surprisingly amazing. Since our last surgery they have changed everything! They have a children's center that is incredible. The staff were all respectful, not only that they were nice and actually liked helping the children. They are trained to work with kids specifically. My son has developmental delays and they were so good to him. Before surgery they had a child life specialist play with him and get him emotionally ready for the surgery. They kept us informed every step of the way. The staff answered all of our questions without getting annoyed (and trust me we had a lot lol). I cant tell you enough how awesome they were. I would recommend them to anyone. I was so worried about TMC due to our visit a few years ago but let me tell you if your kid has a surgery scheduled or your looking into hospitals- Go to Tucson Medical Center and don't stress about it anymore. You will be in good hands. more

upset patient 3/29/2013

The only thing was good is that i didnt have to wait long to see a Doctor...when Dawn Bauman NP saw me she put on her gloves like a normal routine, when she saw my feet she didnt bother to look at them she didnt touch my feet with her gloves. I had no gloves on and had to move my own toes so she can see the pus because i couldnt open them myself cause they were so swollen and red. I felt she grossed out cause she took off gloves and said its athletes feet. She didnt even ask for me to do labs or nothing. She said i had to put on foot cream which i was already was doing that at home. Why would i go to a hospital if i didnt think it was serious. She mis diagnosed me! i had to leave to mexico with in days because i wanted a second opinion because the infection was getting worse. In Mexico the doctor diagnosed me with "cellulitus" gave me antibotics not just creams...my infection was so bad it was getting all over my body up to my face i have pictures of everyday progression. It really makes me upset that I did not get a right diagnosis, not enough medication, more pain then anything, waste of time driving to a hospital just to tell me to do what i was already doing...rubbing foot cream ...and to top it off a BILL that i will be paying for a while.. and not only that i have a whole week not being able to work now who is paying for this? me right? I regret to even step my toes in that hospital. more

Bad place to be. 9/12/2012

I have been here for 6 hours. It took 2 hours for them to interrogate me over my changed name and address (then handed me a pamphlet on medical fraud), duh, I got married. I asks the desk what is taking so long and got the sigh and rolled eyes then told quote "Do you let your children interupt you?". Some kid was jumping from chair to chair yelling and no employee asked them to stop then they come out and asked a patient to go I. The bathroom to vomit because he was bothering everyone else. There was almost a fight between a drunk guy and some other guys and no security showed. Scary, rude, filthy place. I left. more

Won't go back to TMC ER 7/18/2011

Good: Nothing. Bad: ER smelled like vomit. People laying on the floor in ER. Wait time unacceptable. When finally taken in through the "double doors," ER looked filthy, unorganized. Lab drawer named "Kid" was almost abusive in his approach to draw blood. Left me with two huge bruises that took 10 days to heal, and he never could draw blood, had to ask the other nurse. (Got pictures if you'd like to see.) Dr. Colmer did not know what she iwas doing. Diagnosed me with "contact dermatitis." Went to UMC immediately afterwards and. Improvements: (continuation from what I didn't like above) was admitted for 5 days with cellulitis for IV antibiotics. Cleanliness, organization, more qualified lab people, better evaluation of status to be seen instead of judged by one person who doesn't even ask you how painful it is, etc., etc.. Other: This was a traumatic experience for me and one that only solidified my previous experience at TMC, in other words, to never go there again. I would give 0 starts but it won't let me.. more

A good labor and delivery ward 4/12/2006

I delivered my baby at Tucson Medical Center just a few months ago. My experience was generally very positive. My husband and I first attended the Childbirth Preparation Class at TMC which helped us learn what to expect during the labor and delivery process. The class was held at the hospital and also included a tour of the labor and delivery wing. Because of the class, I felt comfortable going into the hospital for my delivery. Overall, I was impressed with my experience at TMC. The medical personnel were friendly and responsive. I felt that my decisions were respected and that the process went smoothly. more

Great nurses and doctors at TMC 10/19/2005

While nobody ever wants to spend time in the hospital, if you have to, Tucson Medical Center is the place to go. The doctors and nurses here provide excellent patient care (especially in the Labor and Delivery unit) and the hospital seems to be the most up to date in southern Arizona. On a lighter note, the gift shop in the maternity ward has adorable baby clothes and gifts. more

Couldn't ask for more 8/21/2005

When we first moved here, we had to decide which hospital we wanted to deliver our second baby at. We chose TMC and we know that we made the best decision. I had a great experience with the doctors and nurses there. They really took care of me and our baby. more
