Fantastic View from the back row 3/10/2006

I thoroughly enjoyed a concert at Symphony Space last week. Every seat is a good seat as I was in the last row and could see just fine. However...there were some sound problems and human traffic issues at both intermission and the end of the show. I felt like I was being pushed in a cattle car. This is not uncommon in venues with one narrow exit, but matters were made worse by patrons lingering in the lobby at the end of the show that prevented others from spilling out onto the street. The bathrooms were clean, but some stalls were so small that my knees knocked a door open. more

Great Local Upper West Side Performing Arts Venue 8/17/2005

The newly renovated Symbphony Space now has two performance areas: the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre and the completely rebuilt Leonard Nimoy Thalia. With a variety of acts, ranging from popular music, Gilbert & Sullivan and film classics, Symphony Space is a wonderful destination for this neighborhood. The crowds are appealing and this is a nice place to take children. more
