I like that I didn't pay very much at all for a big meal. They offer such great hangover food. Cool place for lunch. It's got very fun decor, awesome service (my waiters were funnnn to talk to), and they have really cheesy cheese fries. I guess they have a Mel's Diner-y vibe (that place in Hollywood) except I think the entrees are a lot smaller, but they're open til 2 and the parking is easy and there are really really pretty looking people around for people-watching. Once, I had the portabella mushroom sandwich but it wasn't quite fulfilling until I ordered a side of mac n cheese. I recommend that anyway. I love that sandwich. Big entrees are rather scarce from the menu, but breakfast favorites, sandwiches, and saladsamong other thingsare plentiful in number, delicious, and often made with organic ingredients. Vegetarian versions of several of the dishes are offered, as well. A rather large side and add-on section to the menu gives you an option to put your meal together item by item if none of the menu platters seems to satisfy. The prices are average and the service is okayfrom my experience, usually only one or two waitresses are servicing the entire restaurantwhich isn't big, so that isn't as shocking as it sounds. The patio is a great place to sit in the daynot directly in the sun, but not in some dark corner either. Inside, however, the booths offer a comfy place to sit for a meal and the jukebox usually plays classic rock up into the 90s with a mix of other things thrown in. I love Swingers. Especially after a night out at the bars. Remember bwack in High School when you and all your friends would take over the only Denny's in town on a Friday night? amazing jukebox, adorable servers, free internet, GREAT FOOD....try turkey chili, tofu chiliquiles (miss spell) I have eaten the tofu chiliquiles for 3 straight days with blue corn chips... they also have organic eggs and vegan french fries (along with grill cheese and greasy diner food) its brilliant. could have been over done but somehow they make it work. the santa monica swingers is def. way chiller than the WeHo swingers -- less of a line, better service, better lighting... kind of all around better. everyone knows swingers has the best jukebox in the city, and its impossible not to enjoy your meal when al green and the jackson 5 are playing in the background. the BLT, brownie sundae and chicken quesadilla are delish -- but you haven't lived until you've had their banana milkshake and challah french toast.. amaziinngg. more

I've never been to Swingers before Midnight. It's our hangover prevention late-night grub stop after we've been hitting the bars. And judging by the fact that Swingers is PACKED at 2am, it's the place to be after the bars close. Pros: Good Food, Fast Service more

Great food, love the Hot Turkey Sandwich. Good place to bring vegans and vegetarians. Hot waitresses and hip music. The service is fast usually like 10 minutes. Parking lot in the rear or if you don't want to go out they deliver too. Definately the place I think of for breakfast or after a night of clubbin! Pros: Inexpensive, Hot staff, great scene more

Had lunch here, a tuna melt that was good. Fries were great. But the kitchen and wait-staff are having some issues. Service was terribly slow (25 minutes for a tuna melt?), but no appology from the waiter. I was close to the pick-up window, so I heard other tables and orders were having trouble as well. The wait-staff spent a lot of time hovering, waiting for orders to come up. Plus the fryer stopped working, causing even more trouble. Yikes. If you want easy-in, easy-out, I can't recommend Swingers. But if you've got time on your hands, it's good food that's a bit pricey. Pros: Food Cons: Slow Service, Pricing more

When it comes to diners, I am choosy. Swingers has the three essentials: Great food, great service, great ambience. An indie's dream mix of music, and the waitress's outfits are just too cute. For breakfast, the multi grain banana pancakes win. For meat-eaters: burgers. And for vegg-heads: the stuffed grilled cheese with avocado and tomato. All good. Have fun. Swingers is always a good choice for those late night, post-partying cravings for greasy dinner food. The grilled cheese with avocado and tomato is a favorite. All the breakfasts are good too - but then again, it's hard to mess up breakfast. Usually a good scene with some very attractive ladies trying to recover from a night of drinking. more
