I went here once and I think it's the best place EVER!!! The food is kinda expensive, but the place is pretty clean. There's this waitress, she talks a lot but still very nice!!! And when I tipped her on the table, she said ""I'm sorry, I can't take it if it's on the table."" So, next time if you wanna tip, TIP THEM BY HAND!!!!! But she took like four orders and didn't mess up! Now that's a waitress!!! more

good value compare with other convenient sushi place. 8/20/2009

I go this place pretty often, because i don't usually wait to get a sit, and no waiting time for food. it is very convenient. I went to many different sushi place and eat sushi entired of my life. I compared with other sushi bars, this place is better. sushi rice is soft and not dry, and fish are generally fresh. Pros: convenient, parking, location, Cons: clean quality of small dish and cup, more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! 8/29/2008

I went to Sushi Town last night with a friend of mine. It was my first time trying this restaurant, but it was the best. I don't know what the other raters are talking about, but the food was excellent and so was the service. It's a family friendly restaurant with staff who are willing to help. I think it was overall a restaurant that i am very happy with. I am very pleased with the restaurant. \r \r You should know that this restaurant is not a restaurant with a full service to each customer. It is similar to a fast food service because you take the food off of the conveyor. I think if you have that mindset when you walk in, you'll be very please also! I can't wait til my next visit to this restaurant. Pros: food, service, price Cons: limited booth and seats more

Respectable Strip Mall Sushi 2/13/2008

Good average sushi. Quick, easy, conveyer style stuff.\r \r After an hour in Target, not so bad. Sure, there are better sushi places in town, but if you want a cup of tea and some california rolls in a hurry - why not?\r \r Woulnd't recomend the place for a destination type meal, but great for a snack or light lunch. You can have a decent bite with a friend for less than twenty bucks.\r \r The place is clean and the staff is friendly and quick. Prices are definitely reasonable. \r \r Atmosphere is what it is - strip mall sushi joint.\r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r Pros: Service, Price Cons: Quality, Parking more

Just Average - FALSE ADVERTISEMENT 2/10/2008

Just another average joe. Nothing special about this sushi place; however, they do like to share how much they have donated to the community and their 100 on the ""last"" health inspection. However, according to the Washington County Hlth Dpt. website it shows that their last inspection in November they got a score of 74, which required a reinspection a few weeks later. The funny thing is in the year 2007, there was no such score of 100. It's great that in some other year you may have had that score; however, falsely advertising that in the ""last"" inspection you got a score of 100 is bad publicity. Also, relying on your health score as a reason to not having spoiled food is wrong. Food can still be spoiled no matter if you had a 100 or a 50. \r Just average sushi, would be better if they weren't so picky and charged you for everything (ie. togo containers, soy sauce, ginger, etc.). I thought sushi is always served with those things, heck if you're going to be so picky, mine as well charge for the chopstick and napkins. more

Average Conveyor Sushi 1/19/2008

Fish quality is average. Portion size is average. Their rice portions on the sushi are Japanese style (a little smaller which is a good thing). They usually have a limited selection of sushi on the belt. Most of the mid price items are $1.95 per plate. This is 25 to 50 cents more per plate than other similar restaurants. They don't offer anything above the ordinary like a sashimi plate. Pros: Fast, quick service Cons: Average food quality. more

Great fish, poor restaurant... 9/3/2006

We're sushi snobs. Luckily Portland has some of the best (freshest) sushi around - it really is up there with Tokyo, New York and Vegas in our view. If the owners would only take some pride in their restaurant and take some lessons in business manners, this place would be perfect.\r \r Lets start with the bad:\r - the owners raise prices often and are strong believers in ""nickle and dime the customer to death"" tactics.\r - if you do take-out orders, you are charged for ginger, soy-sauce and, oddly, the takeout container itself.\r - they have a poster behind the cash register showing their mothly proffits through local donations. Yes, the donations are a good thing, but we find it shocking that you would flaunt your profits just after raising your prices.\r - the sushi losenges are made with an automatic maching and invariably fall apart on their way to your mouth.\r \r On to the good:\r - the fish is extremely fresh. Good color, great taste.\r - they are quite fast if you special order an item.\r - they hire youger employees that really do try - and it shows.\r - most of the staff is friendly.\r - it is a ""roto-sushi"" restaurant and you can pick and choose the items you like at your own pace.\r \r On of the other reviewers mentioned that the owners are Korean - this is true, but we don't see that as a negative in any way. A trained sushi cheff is all you need for a sushi restaurant - we do think you need a little politeness to have a successful one, tho. But, since you really do go to a sushi restaurant for one thing - fresh fish - we definitely recommend Sushi Town, but don't expect to get any of that legendary Japanese service or courtesy while you are there.\r \r Pros: Fresh fish, roto-sushi conveyor, fast Cons: Service, ever-changing prices, not the place to go for the 'experience' of Japanese food. more

Not very good 7/22/2006

First off, its a korean that owns the japanese restaurant. That should be a bad sign right off the bat. Unless the owner has some education in japanese culinary cuisine then it obviously refelcts the restuarants authenticity. Second, the quality is horrible. The rice is dry (very inconsistent), the ingredients are cheap and the prices rise continuously. I would suggest marinepolis over this. Pros: they have chopsticks! Cons: quality is bad more

An odd little suprise! 4/10/2006

Wasn't expecting too much as I walked in but... the food actually was actually decent, comparable to many other Sushi places at a fraction of the cost. The atmosphere is interesting, a calming mix of dated stripmall & fake cherry blossom flowers - making this place actually rather authentic. Surely worth a visit! Pros: Food, Service, Cheap Cons: Lighting more

Sushi Town - The Best Around! 4/9/2006

This place is the best - at least for the price you can't beat it. Sushi is fresh, taste as good as that 'other' local Sushi chain & the service is great. Its a great little experience too, with the kitschy music in the background & the strip mall location, hell you might as well do your shopping too & if your really in love you'll find this place romantic too. The green tea is free & the deserts are unexpectedly divine! Pros: Cheap, Quality Food, Service Cons: Little far out more

not the freshest 7/20/2005

There are far better conveyor style sushi places in town; it's too bad this one has the corner on the market in this area. The portions are small and the fish definitely isn't as fresh or well prepared as other similarly priced options. more

our favorite sushi place 4/17/2004

highly recommend this place!!!! very reasonable price. and the staff is wonderful! Pros: food, inexpensive more

Its decent 2/1/2004

The sushi is alright. I've actually eaten cheaper for about the same quality of sushi if not better. I am japanese and read some reviews on here. To the member that said sushi is actually raw fish... No it is NOT! Sushi means rice wrapped around with seaweed with toppings! Please be more informed when making such a comment. Pros: fast, friendly more

Descent 1/2/2004

Would recommend for a lunch in a run. Food is o.k, staff are friendly and atmosphere is nice. more

Great for sushi on the run 1/9/2003

Sushi Town is not a high-end sushi place. It's quick, usually high quality, has typically limited options (but they will make things you ask for) and clean. They are pleasant and seat you as quickly as possible. Sometimes the rice has been a little mushy or the nori too dry, but not very often. more

Good sushi at a good price 8/22/2002

I love that I can fill up at lunch for less than $10! Don't see what you want? Ask for it and they'll make it on the spot. more

The Best Revolving Sushi Bar in Portland 7/24/2002

I have tried every single revolving sushi bar in Portland, and this is the best! At $1.10 to $2.25 a plate, it is a great deal! The sushi is fresh. The place is clean. The people are nice.. and wow, you have to try the baked mussels, unbelievable! You will not be disappointed with this place. Yes, $8 sushi is probably better (only in some ways), but why not get great sushi for a lot less money, and a lot less time! Pros: fresh, inexpensive, fun more

The best ""cheap sushi"" 7/20/2002

The carousel lets you grab what you want, when you want it. It's great for FAST, fun, and very fresh sushi. By the way, it's very inexpensive. Pros: cheap, fast, fresh Cons: busy more

Convenient & Good 6/21/2002

This place is better than one similar one in Beaverton. I come here at least once a week and sushi is small but good. And price is right! Of course, I'll go back again. Pros: Variety of sushi, Convenient, Value more

LOVE IT!! 6/11/2002

I love Sushi town! I take my three year old son, and we just have so much fun. Two of us can eat for a reasonable price and the sushi is good quality. You can watch your food being made and pick what you want when you want! It can't get any better... Pros: price, quality Cons: crowded more
