Best Sushi In Waltham. THE BEST 3/8/2009

The service was great. I work in a company and everytime I go there, the service is great. When you go for lunch time, it was great. I am a picky person, so I ordered something very uncommon, while other sushi chefs seemed like they had trouble making it, sushi chef from Sushi yasu seemed to enjoy it and loved to make me another uncommon roll. My favorit combo is spicy udon with Rainbow roll. The udon tasts good and the fish on rainbow roll are so fresh. You should not let this reststaurant pass by. Pros: the service was great more

A hidden gem, good cheif, creative, good for group and kids 12/27/2008

Sushi yasu is on the Main St and it's in front of the City Hall. When you want a roll without something or with something that is not in the explanation of the menu, just tell the sushi cheif or the waitress. All the fish are very fresh and none of them are not fresh. Tuna's are bright red and salmon are bright orange. When you bring little kids with you, they give you a baby chair so they wont have to sit on your lap and stain your pants. When you order hundred maki's they prepare everything for you, all you have to do is pick it up, but make sure you bring a big car. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great and the waitress is very nice too. When you come and go, they say hello and make you feel like the crowned king. Sushi Yasu has a lot of diffrent korean dishes. There are a lot of maki's you should try, their all wonderful, but just make sure that you order what you like. You really got to try this reastauran, some of the Japanese restaurants I have tried, they just let me down, but this one, you just have to try it. Cons: parking, service, food more

Second to none!!!! 8/15/2008

As a world traveler and food snob I find Sushi Yasu to be the best local Japanese/Korean eatery in the Boston area. The fast, friendly service and ability to make you feel like a ""regular"" on your very first visit is like nothing I have ever expirienced. While the style of decor doesnt compare to the high price low quality places of downtown Boston, this gem leaves your stomach and wallet full. After you eat your fill you will painfully keep eating to savor more and more of this authentic korean cuisine. The traditional style of serving side dishes with the main course brings you into the culture as if you flew half way around the world with out the hassel of jet lag. Whether meeting with a few friends after work for drinks and sushi snacks or trying to survive that awkward first date, they manage to go out of thier way to make your expiriance both pleasurable and memorable. Dont pass this place by. Pros: this is what ""going out to eat"" should be more

Best Sushi selectionI have seen! 1/10/2008

This restaurant is by far my favorite sushi joint in all of boston area. They have a selection of about 40 or so special maki rolls (which are my favorite) and they are all unique, creative -yet very tasty -rolls. There is always something new to try! You can't beat the prices, and the fish is fresh. I have been to practically every sushi restaurant in boston and I have to say this is the best sushi and for a heck of a lot cheaper than the expensive sushi restaurants downtown. Pros: menu selection, maki rolls Cons: atmosphere more

Fish is not fresh 4/27/2007

I went to Yasu and ordered some sushi and maki with 2 friends and We all had terrible stomach pains shortly afterwards. I wouldn't complain if it was just me who had problems, but all of us got sick. I am not riding off sushi, because I Love the stuff, but I am definatly not going back to Yasu for anything raw. Cons: Food made me sick more

I will NEVER eat here again and I don't recommend anyone else go either 1/20/2007

I went to Yasu Sushi in Waltham the other day and I have to say it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. I own a restaurant and I eat out quite often, so I know how both sides of the business works, but never have I been in such a terrible situation that I felt I needed to write a review online to let others know of such poor service. We ordered the Sushi Pizza and halfway through our meal my boyfriend has a sour face on and holds his cheek as if his tooth cracked. He then spits out a quarter sized chewed up piece of ALUMINUM FOIL! The aluminum foil was stuck underneath the sushi pizza and he had been chewing on it with his capped teeth. We discreetly told the waitress about the aluminum foil so other customers do not noticeto be considerate, but they did not even apologize. Our waitress simply says, 'Oh that's from the oven. Sometimes aluminum foil sticks to the food.' She said this in such a nonchalant and unapologetically way it was as if this kind of thing happened frequently. We lost our appetite and left our remaining food as it was expecting a manager to come with some kind of apology, or alternative to our meal but no one came. As our waitress gives us our check she states that the sushi pizza was not put on the bill in such a way that we should be thankful they did not charge us for inedible food. We left with my boyfriend's tooth aching but then we realize there is permanant damage on his gold cap tooth so we go back to speak with the owner. Let's just say we were left with a forced apology, a dented capped tooth, and we were out $33(including tip, yes we even tipped) I will never go to Yasu Sushi again, and I don't suggest anyone else go unless they want to deal with terrible service and business owners who do not care about their paying customers. Cons: Inedible items found in food, Terrible customer service, Owner does not care about customers more

Why go out of town to look for somewhat Jap Restraunt, here it is! 9/13/2006

I believed that was the best Japanese restraunt in town after changing the owner. The stuff is friendly and price is ok, especially for its ""All you can"". Ususally i was there for lunch, and also recomment its lunch box. good price and nice food. I will go there often and hope your guys enjoy its sushi and kichen Korean and Thai food too. more

Good but not great 2/24/2003

I guess I was expecting more after reading the previous reviews. The staff was friendly, but I couldn't get over the bad Spanish music and bright white flourescent lighting. The sushi was good, but the pieces were a little small. Overall, I would go there again if I was in the neighborhood, but wouldn't go out of my way to find it. more

Sushi Chef with the Most!!!! 1/19/2003

Excellent food, and Sevice! Yasa is an amazing and creative Japenese Sushi Chef. The menu is just the foundation of what Yasu is capable of making when it comes to sushi and maki. He is capable of handling the most unusual requests of the customer and very happy to do so. A chef who finds the time to hand-pick his own fish from the market, while maintaining the hours of operation that he does, is very rare and that is what you will find this japenese dining experience to be at Restaurant Yasu! Pros: Great Food-Yasa Roll!, Very Fresh Fish, Excellent Service Cons: Sunday Lunch N/A more
