It took me a while to try this place out because of the lack of reviews, but once I gave this place a chance (first time was about a year ago), I'm back at least once a week. The place is small and quiet. Both the cooked food and the raw fish are great. I find the sashimi best during the latter half of the week. They have standard Sho Chiku Bai for house hot sake and one cold sake (I can't remember the brand). Unfortunately that's it for the cheaper stuff. What is nice is that they have a premium sake which is served cold in a tall/large shot-glass filled to the brim in an old Japanese style wooden cup. Good stuff. I'm glad I don't have to drive to LA anymore for good Japanese food.
If you're looking for a lot of American style rolls and a big booze menu, this place isn't for you. If you're looking for good and authentic Japanese food in Ventura County, I recommend you give this place a try.
By the way, if the Google Maps on Yelp shows you that the restaurant is in Camarillo Heights, it's wrong. It's actually near the freeway, close to daily drive.
