I wish they would go out of business 3/18/2010

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Only came here once, and will never be back. The condition the animals were being kept in were extreme. You can think of it, the mistreatment was there. Dead fish in the tanks, over crowding, filthy cages. The most sad thing was a conure in a cage with no food. There was a little bit of food under the grate of his cage that was meant for what I can only guess was for a larger bird the cage previously held and was not cleaned between birds. The poor little guy was trying his best to reach the only food available to him, but it was just out of his reach. It was horrible. We complained to an employee (a teenager, I have to wonder if any adults are employed there), but I doubt anything has changed. I just hope that little guy got some food and a good home, at least. more

Horrific Pet Store. 12/18/2006

When my boyfriend and I went to SuperPetz the other week, we were both horrified about what we saw: a morally reprehensible number of animals (the rodentia and lizards immediately come to mind) housed in one cage; decaying fish in the tanks and on the floor infront of the tanks; and a wounded lizard who was being trampled upon in an overly- crowded cage, and that obviously had escaped the assumably neglectful store employees' attentions. \r \r The worst image for me was the one of numerous hamsters fighting for a place on the solitary metal wheel, where various limbs and heads were in danger of being mangled. Anyone that is even casually knowledgable about hamster care is aware that the wire wheel used at SuperPetz is dangerous to the animals and injuries are likely with its use. In addition, most experts (and hamster owners) are aware that hamsters almost instinctually must run on the wheel, and so having just one wheel for 20 hamsters to use is unacceptable and inhumane. \r \r I would, without hesitation, assert that my experience at this SuperPetz store has been the worst pet store experience in my memory of pet store patronage. I will never shop at any SuperPetz again. \r \r more

animal cruelty for sale 12/14/2006

if you happen to be an animal hater, by all means shop here as you will be supporting cruelty and neglect. examples: 1/ multiple hamsters in one small cage. one metal wheels that all the animals are struggling to get on with necks and limbs getting caught and perhaps decapitation issues 2/aquariums full of dead fish 3/ way too many lizards in one small cage, crowding on top of one another and fighting to get out. an injured lizard ignored by staff.\r \r i'm sure there was much more carnage, but we had to get out as it was horribly depressing more

Grooming 8/6/2006

My dog Obi has been going there since we got him and they treat him so nice (and he comes home smelling clean!). They know he gets all sad waiting for us to pick him up so they give him alot of attention. I never have to repeat what my dog is like since they all know him. more

Horrible service, high prices 12/15/2005

This is the worst store in the Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg area for service and prices. Manned mostly by teenagers (even the manager!) who don't even give the appearance of caring about customers. Prices are the highest among all the stores. No vet care. Pets up for adoption are kept in a cramped, dirty, tiny cage. Run, don't walk, to another store! Cons: poor service, teenage managers, high prices more
