I needed to have an affidavit for custody notarized and in my lawyer's hands first thing in the morning, but didn't have access to the family car until the evening. The notary stayed after closing (even though it would mean only a measly extra $6 for the business) to accommodate that fact, and even gave me their personal number as a point of contact, as the phones in the office shut off at closing.
