I've had a great experience bringing my pets in for care and I don't have any recommendations for improvement, they're great! more

Amazing Doctor 6/6/2016

Dr. B has been a long time vet for our furry babies. We followed Dr. B from her previous clinic to Sunset, he's the best. more

We had a problem with our old vet and came here to Sunset Animal Hospital. The staff has been amazing. I don't worry about my dog like I used to at my old vet. They are compassionate and very knowledgeable. more

My first thought when I walked into Sunset Animal Hospital was how open, calming, and sweet the staff was to me and my puppy. They were great with communication when an emergency popped up with another animal. When Dr. B. came in the first thing she did was go right down to my puppy to greet him and she was so great with him. i was absolutely impressed with the whole experience. more

My dog is a rescue and has some trust issues at times. The staff at Sunset is not only understanding of this, but has worked so hard to make my dog comfortable there. She now loves all of the staff members and is visibly much more at ease and happy because she knows she is safe at Sunset Animal Hospital. more

Very caring and respectful 1/10/2012

Dr. Kumar was very caring with my cat when he diagnosed her with mamary cancer. Instead of advising me to spend unnecessary money and put my cat through much pain, he advised me to provide her with the best quality of life she had remaining. The day had come when she had difficulty breathing, stopped eating and needed to be freed from her of her pain. I opted to have the Dr come to my place for the euthanasia procedure to make it easier on my cat and myself. Again he demonstrated much care and respect for my the both of us. The extra cost for the house visit was well worth it and I would highly suggest this to anybody who has to go through this emotional process. I don't usually write reviews, I even signed up an account especially for this, but after seeing some of the negative experiences others had, I felt compelled to share my great one. more

PLEASE BEWARE! 11/26/2011

!!BEWARE!!\r I'll start by saying that Dr. Kumar and his staff do NOT listen to the customer at ALL, well at least not me. \r I called to make an appointment to have my 8 week old F2 Savannah kitten her 3-way shots and a general checkup. I specifically asked if they had killed vaccine shots. Savannah cats need to have killed vaccines, if given modified lived virus vaccines they will actually contract the virus and they will DIE! So anyhow, I called and the receptionist said they carry them.. so I went ahead and made an appointment. I go in for my appointment a few days later and guess what, they don't have the killed virus vaccines and they don't even cary them, not sure why the receptionist told me they had them. I wasn't too bothered by that even though they wasted my time coming in. Dr. Kumar's assistant told me they would order the shots I needed and I could come back in to have my Savannah vaccinated.\r A week later I brought her back in after being told the shots were in. Dr. Kumar more

!!BEWARE!! I'll start by saying that Dr. Kumar and his staff do NOT listen to the customer at ALL, well at least not me. I called to make an appointment to have my 8 week old F2 Savannah kitten her 3-way shots and a general checkup. I specifically asked if they had killed vaccine shots. Savannah cats need to have killed vaccines, if given modified lived virus vaccines they will actually contract the virus and they will DIE! I wasn't too bothered by that even though they wasted my time coming in. Dr. Kumar's assistant told me they would order the shots I needed and I could come back in to have my Savannah vaccinated. A week later I brought her back in after being told the shots were in. Dr. Kumar comes in and I asked him about the shots and he proceeded to argue with me about how Savannah cats are fine being vaccinated with modified live virus vaccines which is totally not true. After going round and round with him how it's not safe he basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about. Needless to say I didn't have the shots done. They didn't even order the shots I needed and lied to me again after saying they had came in. I walked out of their office vowing to never visit his establishment again. This is a very serious concern because not only are they not listening and lying to their customers but Dr. Kumar was totally fine with wanting to give a kitten shots that would kill her. Thank God I knew exactly the type of shots my Savannah needed otherwise she would of been given improper vaccines that most likely would of resulted in her passing away. I will NEVER ever consider taking any animal of mine to Dr. Kumar even if it was a serious emergency. I'd highly suggest looking around for another more caring vet to help your pets stay healty. Thanks for wasting my time and almost killing my kitten in the process Dr. Kumar and his staff! more

lacking in morals 7/23/2011

This Vet is truly lacking in morals. His office charged me $150 to give my dog a microchip and a rabbies shot because I was moving to England. I had to wait 6 months to move my pet to the UK to prove he did not have rabbies with the microchip that proves the dogs idenity. When I finally arrived to England, my dog was supposed to be in quarantine for 3 days, instead of the 6 months if she wasn't microchipped. Lo and behold, my dog did not have the microchip inserted correctly by Dr. Kumar and it cost me $6,000 for the 6 month stay. They told me my Vet was incompetent not to have scanned it. I had called Dr. Kumar from England and he was quite understanding...so I thought. I had asked him if he could pay back the $150 plus help with the payment for my dog in quarantine. He had directed me to someone who worked for him and told me they were ""processing the paper work"" and ""looking into the matter"". After not taking my phone calls for a few months (and this was around the time I was getting married) they had finally told me that the statue of limitations had run out and they don't need to pay me anything....real nice. PS- I never write reviews (good or bad) but this one I really feel the need to. more

Great Experience 1/26/2011

This is the second vet that I have taken my cat to and it was a great experience. He was honest about what needed to be done, and made me feel comfortable about the decision that I was making. They take appointments and the staff is very friendly. I read one of the reviews where someone said the DR was rough with their pet, I did not think he was rough at all. Prices are average.\r more

Love Dr. K. 5/11/2010

I love Dr. K! My cat was sick this week and I got an appointment with Dr. K one hour after I called about my sick cat. My cat ended up needing a serious procedure but Dr. K found ways to help lower the vet bill for me. I thought the cost was extremely reasonable and I would recommend him to anyone. more

Great caring service! 3/22/2010

I love this place. They were so helpful for Roxy, Scooter & i'm about to take my new puppy there tomorrow! They're very kind, efficient & always recommending ways for me to save money. \r \r Thanks to all the staff & the Doc for making my pet visits affordable, timely & friendly! more

awesome 1/31/2010

i have 2 service dogs and 2 cats that i take to this clinic. it is imperative that i have good veterinary care for my dogs as they save my life everyday. i appreciate that dr. wolfe provide holistic alternatives to the animals. she mixes flowers essence that helps with anxiety or other issues. they treated my cats very very well when they were spayed and neutered. i was extremely happy with the extra time they kept the female. most places spay them and kick them out. they watched her recovery closely and made sure she wasn't in pain. they understand how vital a service dog is to someone with disabilities and treat them with professionalism, compassion and knowledge. more

Real Estate Agent 1/12/2010

I agree that the people who had negative comments about Dr. Kumar and/or his staff need to look inside themselves. If you want to visit a clinic that does take advantage of you while your pet is sick, go to Wilshire Pets on LaBrea and Wilshire. Not only are they unskillful and arrogant, but they're downright thieves.\r I have been a dog owner for many years and used several vets Dr. Kumar has been the best vet that I have experienced in LA. He is caring, methodical in his approach, and his fees are not exhorbitant. \r He actually came recommended to me from a colleague at work and I was happy to meet someone of his nature and integrity. more
