This is the second time we've stayed here and somehow, I neglected to write a review for the previous time! So here we go. First time: regular-style hotel room with a stellar river-side view of the mountains. Overall, A-OK!
This time, a suite-style room with a front-of-hotel view of, well, the entrance to the hotel. Still a great overall view, just not as breathtaking as the river-side view off the back of the hotel. Other thing: because of the sun rising and beating on the front of the hotel, our room was HOT for sleeping both nights. In the future, I might ask for a river-side view just to make sure I'm not too hot for sleeping. The suite-style room included the usual hotel room amenities plus a fridge, microwave, and small cooking surface. Nice! We made great use of the fridge and microwave. There's also a small coffeemaker. One downside: apparently they do not restock supplies when the room is cleaned - I made a pot of decaf for myself the first morning and when I went to do the same the next morning, found that the coffee had not been restocked. Also, you're on your own for doing your own dishes while you're staying in the room. Not a huge deal, but it was a little surprising to find the coffeemaker still dirty and the used spoons, knives and glasses still dirty where we'd set them down in the sink. Also noted the bed was made but not changed. So I guess, instead of cleaning the room, they straightened it. No biggie, but good to know before you go!
Great service from the bell staff and those in the front check-in area. Also, the lobby is cozy yet open and a great spot to just hang out. There's even an outlet (if you need power) just beyond the big fireplace on the right side of the room.
