GREAT FOOD 5/21/2002

I've eatten at numerous resturants in the Los Angeles County area from Crustaceons to Houstons, but my all time favorite is the CHEESECAKE FACTORY! The Newport Beach loc bar seating is good on a sunny day. (you can see clear to the water) The Redondo Beach, Beverly Hills and Pasadena Loc's are good for lunch and the Marina Loc is great for dinner. Ordering a "Twilight Zone," from the bar, makes the wait easier. The Tex Mex Egg Rolls, Buffalo Wings, Shrimp Scampi and Chocolate Brownie Sundae Cheesecake are a few of my favorites. Gluttony to the extreme 5/20/2002

What can you say about a place that has a menu the size of the phone book and a line that's always down the block? The portions are so huge that they're actually embarassing. But, I suppose I am an American glutton--because I love it here. The menu is so big that no matter what I'm craving, there's something available that fits the bill. It's not a place I can go to often for fear of eating myself to death ... but whenever I do, I always leave extremely full--and extremely happy.     Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.
