I've eaten at the Sub Shop for over ten years now. I go there so much that they should probably just put me on the schedule. I've conservatively averaged three lunches a week for the past decade, which adds up to at least 1,560 subs. That's a lot of food - but it's taken more than food to keep me coming back so often, and for so long.\r

I first went to the Sub Shop because of its proximity to my job. I returned because I liked the food and the prices. But the ambiance ultimately secured my abiding loyalty.\r

The Sub Shop features a relational atmosphere which makes time spent there joyful. The employees have a genuine camaraderie with customers and each other. The owner treats everyone like a friend. You feel when you walk in the door that your patronage means membership in a community, not just a frequent-dining club.\r

I work farther from the Sub Shop than I used to. While the food tastes as good as ever, the prices have increased. Still, the ambiance endures. That fact ensures my continued business. Long after I've tried everything on the menu, the sense of community keeps me coming back for more.
