Sub Rosa

A group of us happened upon Sub Rosa on a Wednesday night, when our destination had unexpectably had an emergency... there was a large group of us (14). We went and asked if they could accommadate our group and they appeared happy to do so. However, onve inside and sat it became clear to many of us that they were overwhelmed. \r It took forever to get water, and have our order taken... as far as getting the salads, S L O W. One end of the table at least got bread re-fills, but not the other. Re-fills for water or iced tea... took forever. One person ordered an appitizer, that did not arrive until RIGHT before his meal did. Orders were not correct, ingredients that had not been listed as being in the meal were present and re-orders again were slow. Guest that had come in and been seated after us were finished with their meals and leaving while we were still waiting for our main dishes... and finally, it was overproced for what you got... A disappointment to sat the least. Perhaps for a couple wishing a small romantic dinner, but not ready for larger groups or celebrations. Cons: NO Parking! more

I love Sub Rosa restaurant located on SE Clinton. Dining here feels much like dining with loved family members. The food is delicious, affordable (the dishes are rich...) and has a wholesome appeal. I love the mom and pop feeling of this place as you are waited on by the proprietor. I also find this restaurant romantic with its candle lit tables in an unpretentious kinda way. The tuffle's at the end are nice & add a unique touch. Highly recommend a visit! Pros: Taste, Healthy, Atmosphere Cons: Simple menu more

I like Mary Ann, who is the owner and was our server. I like the location, the corner of 26th and Clinton is a good spot. I like the house red wine, very cherry and fruity. My pasta was good. My wife's pizza was a combination of flavors we have never had before. Gorgonzola cheese, cinnamon walnuts, and carmalised onions on a pita like bread. We both liked this small neighborhood place very much. more

Very Dissappointed in the value here. Had the Penne Rosa, meal was fine but small serving pf a meatless pasta for $9.00. My wife had the pizza, again it was fine but for $14 dollars you can get a lot better pizza elsewhere. Pros: atmosphere Cons: Value more

We loved SubRosa!!!!! The service was great. The pizza was very good and reasonably priced. more
