Editorial review from GrubHub 2/15/2014

by Erik at GrubHub Provided by GrubHub
The order showed up over 1/2 hour late with no apology from the driver. He also forgot my beverage and didn't bring any utensils. Kudos to GrubHub for comping me some cash, but waiting over 2 hours for your food kind of defeats the purpose of ordering in. I'm still waiting for my drink--a competent driver would have stopped at a 7-11 but I think this guy drove all the way back to the restaurant. more

Give and take 1/17/2011

Went for lunch with friends. I think they have only 2 people working the tables...1 waitress, 1 busboy. The waitress was not very friendly, and borderlined inattentive. She came by and asked how everything was when we got the salad and bread, but never bothered when the actual food was brought to our table.\r \r I ordered a seafood pasta dish that was on special. There was hardly any pasta, and the cream sauce was so thin it was like soup. The flavor was there - no complaints with the flavor, but the quality of the sauce and the portion of the pasta was bad.\r \r I'd go there again if someone asked me, but it isn't the first place that will come to mind when I want to go out to eat. more

Great Experience 8/7/2008

My Hubby and I went there very often - First is their food; Second is their service.\r Not like other Italian chain Restaurant, you can ask them change the selection of the pasta or other changes.\r And, they usually give you a great portion of the seafood or meat insead of giving a big portion of pasta or rice.\r Also, we always receive the best service among the restaurants in las vegas.\r Cons: great portion of the food and the great service more

I highly disagree 11/26/2005

I grew up with many great-uncles from the Old Country. On our first visit to this family owned restaurant, there were two older gentlemen nestled in the corner with their napkins tucked in their shirts, I loved it. The food is unique and any dish we have tried is great. The salad is a wonderfully unique blend. We have taken my parents and some friends there and all have been impressed. It is sparce and small and that is the point. By the way, I hate Olive Garden and it is not Italian at all. So basically, if you also hate the Olive Garden and other chains, you will love this place. I must say though I didn't like the house wine. Pros: family owned, unique menu, salad, yummy Cons: house wine, wrong wine glass more

I felt a little let down 6/29/2005

Several of my family members have referred me to Strings before so I thought id check it out. The atmosphere is nothing fabulous, if anything it felt a little cheap, so that was a a turn off right away. Service was about what you would expect in any typical restaurant, waiter took our order, smiled, brought us food, drinks stayed pretty much full. I ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and peppers and such which sounded pretty good on the menu, but was not up to par when i got it. The main problem was that it was entirely too greasy, it was especially ridiculous for a seafood dish. I cant remember what my girlfriend had but she wasnt really impressed by her food either. Maybe it was just a bad day for the cook or something but it was enough to keep me from coming back. more

THAT'S AMORE 5/31/2005

At first glance when you walk in the door, the place looks small and is sparcely decorated, but the service was great. The restaurant itself was extremely clean. The soup and salad good. There was a lot of food for the price. A+ Pros: Nice Parking Lot, Prompt Seating, Price Cons: Sparce on Decor, Small more

not so great 5/18/2003

After reading the reviews on this page I was not overly excited about eating at Strings, however, it seemed worth a shot. I thought wrong...VERY strange salad...nothing like I've ever seen at an Italian joint...creamy italian dressing, sunflower seeds, and raisins topped this broken iceberg salad. I thought perhaps the cook had spilled some trail mix on the greens, but this seemed to be normal. Main courses were nothing to rave about...decent food, but I guess you get what you pay for...I paid 30 bucks for my fiance and myself. I HATE to say it, but visit a chain instead...I know, I was looking for a hole in the wall that I couldn't get in Texas, but no luck here... Pros: Good Sodas, Price Cons: Neon Glow..., Horrible Hose Salad, Lacking Good Service more

A Great Italian Restaurant... 6/6/2002

... but kill the neon. Still, Strings is where you want to go when you want romance, but still want to wear jeans and a t-shirt on a balmy Vegas night. They recently streamlined their menu and the selections are still wonderfully tasty, including their all-you-can-eat salad. Is it just like Rome or Venice? Of course not. This is a very affordable Italian restaurant that is catering to a local crowd with good portions, great service and just a nice place to be (although, please, guys, kill that neon inside). Pros: Excellent food, Good service, Inexpensive Cons: Neon more
