Excellent Independent Music Store 3/23/2006

It's hard to find a really good CD store in the Madison area. Especially near campus. Strictly Discs is the best I've found. They have a lot of the music I'm into, which often times falls under the indie rock category. It's hard to find indie music at, say, Best Buy. It's a cozy store on Monroe St. with an attractive sign to draw you in. Another plus is if you go onto their website : www.strictlydiscs.com you can see what the staff tops pics are for the year. Given the fact that the staff and I have similar musical interests, I enjoy this resource. more

Excellent For Taking Free Posters 8/21/2005

Strictly Discs is the CD store you visit in order to decide which albums you want to purchase at one of Madison 's less annoying alternatives. Featuring several listening stations and a wide variety of used albums, you can spend hours upon hours listening to music. Avoid eye-contact with employees at all costs, or they will suck you into their frightening world of being a total tool. Also features a large vinyl collection. more

Strictly Discs tends to have a pretty solid selection. But the staff there tends to be snotty and think they have some sort of special cd clerk superpowers. I would say, shop at Strictly but try your best to avoid any verbal (or physical) contact with any Strictly Disc employee. more
