I'm glad to know I'm not the only one... 8/6/2011

Overrated! My food was not nearly as good as I anticipated! I would rather go to Tom's oyster bar... I will not be back to Streetside in Bham. Service was poor, and we were one of three tables! Didn't keep our glasses full and we only had two rounds. I had heard good things about this place, and was disappointed. It is nothing special. more

Going BACK! 11/7/2009

Amazing for a smaller place. Food was incredible the first time - heading back for more! Service was unobtrusive yet timely and not hesitant to make excellent recommendations (When given choice between two picks my waiter actually recommended the less expensive option - and it was delicious.) The person who complained about a part of 10 trying to get drinks failed to point out that the bar is a ""bonus"" here and not the attraction, hence it's small size. Great place for out of town guests to try! Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service Cons: Small more

Something Fishy 5/21/2009

This is one of those establisments that rests on its laurels. For some reason, Streetside has built a reputation as a trendy, upscale place to meet. However, food is average, wait-staff is rude, rushed, impersonal. The fish is not top pick. You are much better off at Mitchell's seafood, just a couple of blocks away! Pros: Good Location Cons: Average Food, Overpriced, Rude Staff, Poor Parking more

Nice place rude management!! Was harassed by manager do not 5/4/2009

Spend your hard earned money somewhere that appreciates your business . The rude flamboyent man acting like an important manager harrased me while waiting in lime for the restroom and then turned away our party of 10 from having drinks.. Guess the owners are not interested in customer service as long as they have managemnt driving away local business! There are much better places in town that will actually appreciate your business... more

Awesome! 11/15/2007

This place is the best! Food is FANTASTIC. Staff is beautiful and friendly. Just like you've been their best friend forever. The Key Lime Pie Martini is a little slice of heaven... I will keep going back. =) Pros: Just about everything Cons: hmmmmm....??? more

Come see the stars 8/21/2007

One of my favcorite spots. Great food, attentive servers, strong wine list. And lately celebrities have been flocking to this place! Pros: food and service Cons: small more

got sick 2/25/2007

i had the whitefish and lump crab and up chucked the entire night, i also had explosive diarreah. It was so bad the up chuck came out of my nose. the hostess was so rude and mean to us, it was so packed and uncomforatable waiting to get a crappy seat...yuck! this place is the worst.... Pros: the bread was good Cons: getting severely sick, thought i was going to have to go to the hospital, long wait, mean people, they dont take reservations more

Makes you feel at home and all are your friends 9/19/2006

This restaturant is absolutely one of my favorites. The food is to dye for. You receive exactly what was said on the menu. What I apprieciate most is that you can ""customize"" The waitstaff is the friendliest in town and will serve you like a queen. They give honest opinion and recommendations. There may be a bit of a wait but it is well worth it. Streetside truely makes your evening. While waiting there is a full bar area. If you are recongnized your drink is already poured before you get through the door. That is great service! If you chose to sit at the bar and eat that is wonderful too. Service at the bar is TOP NOTCH from the bartenders. Not like some other places where you eat at the bar and dread the experience. Once you leave you are family! We try to go to new places but know that everything will be wonderful at Streetside why mess with a great thing. Pros: Awesome food, Great drinks and people (staff and patrons) Cons: smaller but that is what makes it fun more

best around 11/10/2005

I have been eating here it seems forever. I have never been disappointed. It is alway quality food with a casual atmosphere. Go here more

Best in Birmingham 5/19/2004

I stopped in there with my sister and her fiancee. It was a Thursday and packed, but we were seated immediately. Great food, reasonable price. Put's other restaurants in town to shame for quality and fast service, not to mention price. Pros: Good food, Reasonable price, Fast service more

Simply Marvelous!!!!!!!!! 7/8/2003

Streetside Seafood is the best kept secret in the metro area. I've been dining at this place for over 5 years now. I started going there for lunch while working in Birmingham and have continued to go for dinner as well. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal in this gem of restaurant. Yes it's quite small, and get's crowded very quick, but for me that's what makes it fun. The lobster bisque is to die for. The bread is splendid. The menu changes daily. My absolute favorites are the oyters rockefellow are worth the trip by themselves. Simply Marvelous!!!!!!!!! Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere more

Service strong, food weak 1/10/2003

The room is a bit too narrow--they're clearly trying to cram too much into too little space. Service was good. The big disappointment: the menu made the entrees sound interesting, in contrast with the bland, skimpy portions which were delivered to our table. If this is the way things are headed in Birmingham, it will be wiser to stick with establishments that have been around a while. Pros: service Cons: food more
