A Most Enjoyable Ride 7/12/2015

The New and Improved rain ride runs from Honesdale to Hawley through scenic Wayne County, PA. The round trip takes just under two hours. Tickets are available to ride newly painted and reupholstered passenger cars and a few tickets are available for riding in the caboose, (at an additional price) which is where I rode. There are still many improvements planned, as well as added attractions. I will definitely go again. more

Poor experience 10/12/2010

I can't believe someone left 4 star review. If I could give zero, I would do so. The train was old, dirty, out of functions. And the view, actually there was no view, was bad. We drove hours there for the Fall Foliage, and on their website, they said it's 41/2 hrs round trip, but we only saw abandoned construction sites, and the train only run less than 3 hrs round trip, we had to stay in a middle of nowhere, except a shop for cheap hot-dog with awful smell, and a most dirty restroom I have ever seen for a hours and half. more

Fun for kids 8/24/2005

This is a great activity for small children if you are vacationing in the area or just looking for a fun day trip. The train excursions leave from Honesdale and take about a half hour to get to the neighboring town of Hawley. They often have themed train rides, such as the Easter Bunny ride in the spring and the Halloween ride in the fall. I used to volunteer for the Easter train ride, handing out Easter candy. The Easter bunny is on the train and makes the rounds as well. The scenery between the towns is really nice for the adults. The tickets are around $10-$15 each. more
