This place has terrible customer service. We've bought all out major appliances from them for years. We recently bought a washer and dryer and also bought the extended warranty. Our washer stopped working so we called them. They sent someone over a few days later. They looked at it, accused of of breaking it, then said they would have to order a part. We were told the part would arrive 3 days later from Spokane, only 6 hours away. We then got a call the next week saying that they have had just ordered the part and it they wouldn't be able to come until 2 weeks later. They said they were booked out. So, total, it's going to take them 3 weeks??!! This is terrible customer service and we won't be buying from them again. We've spend $75 on laundry at the laundromat so far. Don't buy from them!!! They do not care about their customers and do not stand behind their warrantys!!! more

About 3 years ago we bought a refrigerator from Standard TV after a kitchen remodel. The icemaker functioned OK for about 1 year, but then became more unreliable into year 2, and almost never worked in year 3. I had not purchased an extended warranty so I was reluctant to incur service and repair charges and finally turned it off. I did some online research and found that this particular model of refrigerator had problems with the icemaker. I finally decided that accepting this inferior icemaker was a poor decision on my part and decided to call Dave Gander, the sales rep we had originally purchased it from. He recommended I call Kelly Coffman in customer relations. Kelly patiently listened to my story and said she would see what she could do. I didn’t hold out much hope. The next day, she called me back and told me that she had gotten me a brand new replacement from the manufacturer. After 3 years? I could not believe it! I have to commend Kelly, Dave and Standard for their awesome customer service. This experience has made me a lifelong customer and I would have no hesitation in recommending Standard to anyone. more

Wow. I have lived in Portland my entire life and try to purchase from locally owned companies. My recent experience is a nightmare. I cant figure out if they are just really unorganized or trying to pull a fast one. I am not getting into the details bu,t be very careful about rebates. I am 2 months into a purchase and cant get the correct documents to send in. They even made up a fake purchase date to re validate rebates that were wrong anyway. This is after several calls. No names mentioned but the Beaverton store....""store 10"", manager doesn't have the decency to call me back after a detailed voice mail. more

Excellent service again by Standard. Helpful salesmen at the store gave us full attention and honest, low pressure information to help us choose between products. When it came time for delivery of TV & freezer, Darnell called ahead and was able to schedule an alternate delivery time that was more convenient for our family. Darnell and Mark were great on delivery! more

Product delivered, nothing they can do 11/29/2011

The freezer portion of our refrigerator quit working; instead of throwing parts and service into the old refrigerator, we decided to purchase a new one. We went to Standard TV & Appliances. We purchased a new refrigerator on 11-26-11. Product was delivered 11-27-11. The person that purchased the refrigerator was denied the 18 month no interest contract. Product was paid with a credit card. I was at work so I called back to see if I could try to quality for the 18 month interest free promo. My call was returned 3 days later. I was told nothing could be changed as the product was already delivered. I do not know what a delivery date has to do with financing. Terrible customer service. I will never purchase another item from Standard TV and Appliance. more

Gone WAY Down Hill 3/31/2009

In the 10 years that I have dealt with this company they have gone from a great locally owned business that was reputable to deal with to just another big box store that will say anything to sell the most expensive model of appliance on the floor. Recently I was up sold on an appliance that I was promised would be in stock the following week and would be worth the wait (most expensive of it's type on the floor - I was looking at a Manager's Special - in stock, reasonably priced). Four weeks passed without the appliance coming into stock. Each time I called the sales person said it would be in within the next couple of days and each time seemed to think that it was hilarious that it wasn't in yet and that I was being inconvienced. I finally had to cancel the order (that was a hassle with them as well) and go to another store to purchase a similar appliance.\r \r It's sad to see a once reliable, local business deteriorate into just another money grabbing big box store.\r Pros: Locally Owned Cons: Turned into just another Big Box store more

WORST service EVER 8/6/2008

We had Standard come out and look at our dryer that was on the fritz. First of all, they said they would call to schedule a time and we never heard from them. Then they just showed up unannounced. The technician was very nice and told me I might need a new part. He suggested I order it and just monitor the dryer in the meantime. If it wasn't acting up anymore, he said to just call and cancel the part. He also asked what day in the next week would be good for them to come out - I said Tuesday. My husband then got a call from them that they tried coming out for the original service call and no one was home. He explained that one of their technicians did in fact come out. They then said there was no way the part would be in by Tuesday. Meanwhile, our dryer was working just fine again, so I called to cancel the rest of the service. The guy on the phone told me that I was just charged for the labor ($130), but I was looking at a receipt that read $290 (part + labor). He was very condescending and again told me there was no record of being charged for the part. I told him I would check with my bank and call back if there were any descrepencies. There were - I was charged the full $290. He said he had no record of it, but that he would be sure my card was credited back. The bottom line is that they are incredibly disorganized, I can't believe they are running a business! The guy on the phone later called back and said he found the info and that my card would be credited back in a week - JUST LIKE I TOLD HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE! I never got any kind of an apology. Pros: Good selection of appliances Cons: HORRIBLE service! more
