Memorable Luncheon 7/19/2002

I surprised my friend with a lunch at the St. Paul Grill to celebrate her upcoming wedding. My friend loved the up class style restaurant. I loved the reasonable prices. Granted we did not order the most expensive items on the menu but did have filling, delicious meals at a cost of under $25 for 2. The staff even gave each of us a free complimentary dessert. I was also afraid they might frown on having young children at the St. Paul Grill, but my infant daughter was treated well by the staff. Thanks for a wonderful lunch that will remain memorable for our lifetime! Pros: Friendly, Elegant Atmosphere, Personable more

Great Food! Bad Service! 7/19/2002

Took my girlfriend there for a special occasion. We had a great time. Got a window table looking over Rice Park at night time. Food was great. Ambience was nice. Service could use a little help. Don't know if waitress was having a bad day or what but felt like she could care less about her tables. more

  • In Short
Located in the historic and posh Saint Paul Hotel, the Grill is high-energy. It's popular with the dressed-up pre-theater crowd, and a gathering spot for political powers-that-be. First-time visitors should peek inside the hotel's fancy lobby (circa 1910) before stepping into the dining room's moneyed atmosphere--mahogany woodwork, gleaming brass, booths topped with frosted-glass partitions and tables set with heavy linens. The standard grill offerings include beef tenderloin and the signature bourbon pork chops.
