Went to visit my mom who had a transplant (I will be taking care of her post op at home and I also have a three month old and am a single parent). I couldn't even get through the lobby! The visitor check in people were not helpful at all, they were rude and I got glared at when I asked her if she was serious that my child couldn't be there (uh, the only babysitter I have just had surgery!). I read on the website that exceptions could be made and I was very pleasant to them even with their rudeness. They said that they would "call security to escort me out"!!!! I didn't say or do anything that would result in getting escorted out by security. It was humiliating and embarassing. I ended up in tears outside the building, I wasn't allowed to see how my mom was, and I was utterly humiliated. I had to send my mom a text telling her why I wasn't there, which made HER upset and angry. My mom will be there for about a week and I will NOT be going to visit, I will pick her up when she gets discharged but I am never going to set foot near this hospital ever again. It was a horrible experience that I will not forget.
