OK - I love to workout in the mornings... but usually hate getting ready at gyms due to the typical ""gym"" lockerroom. Not the case at the Spectrum Club at the Tezel and Guilbea...

Was wondering if you really looked at the dirty pool can write your name on the tile its so dirty.Pool chemicals not right, chlorine to high , mildew on the walls in pool area,damage to walls and over all dirty.Talked to manager couple of months ago and she made all the promises to clean it up and its still the same!!Was told my membership was high because it was a Ruby club!! What a joke its run down and dirty!!!! more

Nice Neighborhood Health Club 6/7/2007

I've been a member for about 3 years. I visit the gym 3 - 5 times a week. I started using this gym mostly because of it's location relative to my home. The gym is very clean and well maintained. Some of the equipment is older but still in good condition. Lately there have been numerous improvements, such as the cycling studio and new flatscreen television monitors, and some newer eliptical equipment. People are very friendly and there are numerous scheduled activites for all skill levels including children. more

Home away from Home! 3/20/2007

OK - I love to workout in the mornings... but usually hate getting ready at gyms due to the typical ""gym"" lockerroom. Not the case at the Spectrum Club at the Tezel and Guilbeau location! When I first went into the club and the staff person was showing me around, I was definitely impressed by lots of things - the equipment, the friendly people, cleanliness - but as soon as I saw the lockerroom I was ready to sign up! This past week, I've enjoyed my morning workout but really enjoyed getting ready in a lockerroom that's a lot nicer than my home bathroom! What a great way to start the day! more

Great all around club 3/19/2007

This is a fantastic neighborhood club. I was looking for a club where I could take my kids. I was very pleased to find out that they really have a super Kids area. Not only is everything fresh and new, Including a fantastic outdoor play feature, the staff are fantastic. They made my kids feel at home and they had a great time. The fitness area of the club is top notch. Most of the machines have personal tv's on them. If they don't have a personal tv you can watch 8 huge plasma's while you workout. The staff are friendly and the club is clean. I would hightly recommend this club to everyone. Pros: Kids Club, staff friendlyness, awesome equipment more

Great friend workout facility 3/18/2007

This club is awesome. I love all the group exercise classes. The instructors are friendly and when I first joined went out of the way to make me feel at ease in the class. They encourage you to take it at your own pace and stress that this is for you, not a contest to keep up with your neighbor. I have a hectic work schedule and the variety of class times gives me little excuse to skip a workout. The facilty has great hours and again makes it easy to get in my workout. I love all the new tv monitors on each piece of cardio equipment. It makes time go by when your working out watching your favorite show. The staff is friendly and goes out of the way to make you feel welcome when you come into the club. I have several ""club"" friends and all agree that this is a great place to workout. Awesome Neighborhood Gym 3/15/2007

I just recently moved to San Antonio from Houston. After looking around at other clubs, I joined Spectrum a couple of months ago. I am very pleased to say that my my children are extremely happy in the kids area that they have. I am a single Mom, so my 3 kids are everything to me. I love the fact that I can work out in a very clean environment and be confident that my kids are being well taken care of. They drag me to the club on days that I might would just stay home and rest. Its' Great!!! Aside from the kids area at Guilbeau, I love the way that this club is so neighborly. I have only been going there for a couple of months and the staff knows my name. It is nice to have the personal attention. Pros: Kids Club, Friendly staff more

great neighborhood gym 3/14/2007

This a great little gym. I just joined in January and I really enjoy my time here. The staff is very friendly, always smiling and they try to get the members involded in the fun. My child is 5 and he just loves the kids area, they have a very nice outdoor component which I can't seem to get him off of! Pros: rewards program, friendly staff Cons: smaller gym more
