From the time I walked into the door until the time I walked out, I felt like I was the only person in the shop. I was waited on hand and foot. I picked out a couple of wedding dresses from their extensive selection (other bridal shops I visited had limited inventory) and the woman who waited on me took one look at me and immediately picked out 2 dresses for me to try. I didn't even try on the dresses I picked for myself. The 2nd dress I tried that she picked was perfect for me!! She knew what looked best on me better than me. I went back for my fitting - the dress was a perfect fit. I feel the ladies at Special Events were extremely knowledgeable, courteous and so ver pleasant to deal with. If YOU go anywhere, go to Special Event Bridal. I highly recommend them!!!!!! more

I thought perhaps my experience was unique, so first I read the other reviews. There is a serious problem when ONE-THIRD of the reviews were not just negative, but HORRIBLE! Obviously my experience was not unique. The worst part was my need was so simple! My son's fiance has already selected her bridesmaid's gowns so I just needed Special Event to just order it for my daughter and perhaps do some alterations! I could not even get them to call me back - after 3 tries! How do they stay in business?!? more

I just bought my second dress at the Special Event. They are really great with everything. The girls who helped me couldn't have been more helpful. They made me feel really good and really special and they did not bother if I tried on more than 10 dresses! Finally, I did there was one I loved how it looked on me. It was actually the one the sales rep had told me to try on the first place but I wanted to try on others. In the end ,she was right. The dress was made for me to fit like a glove. Not even a stich had to be removed! more

Me and my mom went to the Special Event and we weren't planning to buy a dress at first. We were just looking. We tried on a few dresses in my size but I saw one that was PERFECT for me. It was a little too big but they said they could order one in my size. They took my measurements and we ordered it. It will be here in April, they said. I am very anxious to see my gown. Oh, they said to me to make sure not to gain any weight. If I lose weight, thats okay because they can make adjustments. The store has a lot of options so if you don't have anyone help, you can get a little overwhelmed with so much options. more

This is what The Special Event Bridal Shop was like for me. They had it all! Customer service was excelent, their stock is outstanding, their shop is very convenient to find and to park, and they've got something the other shops don't: GREAT EXPERIENCE to actually consult you on the dress that best fit you.They helped me find what looked best in me without disconsidering what I was looking for. more

I am very happy with my experience. I will be getting married and I already bought my gown. To find my dress was alittle stressful in begining, but when I foudn this shop, they made it real convenient for me. Their know-how of what dress fits best for me was really helpful. Four words come to my mind when I think of my shopping experience with them: Gorgeous gowns, greatest service. I read some negative reviews here and it just don?t sound like them. I had to come here and write what the store is really like. First, it is really easy to get there and parking is not an issue. They have a huge parking lot. Secondly, the shop?s got so many dresses that?s sometimes overwhelming. Without their customer service helping you find what you?re really looking for, it would be a disaster. They treated me like a princess and my mom was really impressed with their way of making us feel so special! They were very punctual with our appt. more

Before going to the Special Event, I?d actually gone to more than 7 shops in the area. One place in Worcester had the dress I was looking for and so did the Special Event! But the Special Event won me over for their better service. The ladies at the shop were so attentive to me and my needs. They couldn?t have been better! They made it real easy for me and my party. The best part was when I received their phone call almost always keeping me posted on my dress order. They also made it very clear to me that I could go for my fittings as many times as I wanted to. I went into the shop with a picure of a dress that I liked - they did not have it in stock but they were all so helpful in pulling dresses and styles that were similar. I tried them on and fell in love with one, but continued my search for the "picture" dress. All of the other dresses I tried, including the picture dress, just couldn't compare to one of their choices for me. I went back and ended up getting that dress. All of the women there are so friendly, personable and helpful. I LOVE my dress. I would never hesitate to go back to Special Event Bridal, nor would I ever hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone looking for their special dress. Thank you ladies - you are all awesome!! more

I originally went to look for a specific wedding gown I had found online. When I presented the image to them, they said they did not have that dress but others similar. I found a dress that I liked, but wanted to make some alterations by adding a strap to the top. Several times I was told "oh, I know, I know what you want" and proceeded to make a cap sleeve. I also never received a phone call when the dress arrived. I went to try it on, and immediately noticed she started unlacing the dress. I DIDN'T ORDER IT AS A LACE UP. I decided that was a bonus to be able to wear it without alterations, but they didn't order down a size, which is customary for lace up because then the laces are more decorative. So now I have a lace up dress that is a size too big and the bust is too big also. They don't listen at all. If you are going to go, be VERY VERY clear about exactly what you want, confirm sizing and don't let them hustle you. Pros: Wide Selection Cons: you are ignored, taken advantage of more

I walked into the store looking for a prom dress and noticed how unorganized the place was. The dresses were in no order and they only had one size for each dress, which were all huge. I tried them on and they had to clip them to fit. When they did that, I couldn't see what the back of the dresses looked like. However, I did eventually find one that I liked. Because they didn't have my size, the dress of course had to be ordered and the woman began taking my measurements. I was a little worried about how it would fit because I wasn't able to try on the dress in my size, so I politely asked what would happen if the dress came in and didn't fit me. The woman rudely responds "we been doin dis foa 10 years, ma'am." I decided to buy the dress anyways because I really liked it, and the woman said it would be ready in the middle of april and they would call me when the time came to pick it up. The end of april was approaching and I still hadn't heard from them... my prom is at the beggining of may. So I called them wondering when the dress would arive but it turned out that it was already there. They did not bother calling to tell me this. So I went into the store to pick it up and tried it on. The dress was a size too big. It was too late to order another dress in my size. They took my measurements, so there is no reason why the dress shouldn't fit. So if you want to go to a place where things are done right and you are treated nicely, I would suggest going somewhere other than Special Event. I had not decided if I was going to be ordering my bridal party dresses through the shop yet and because I had not decided they would not answer my questions both the Owner and the Manager hung up on me and had raised their voices. I speak for myself. I had an amazing experience at Special Event. I am originally from Worcester but took the time to go to Marlborough after visiting all the Bridal Shops around my area. IN comparison to other shops, Special event is really SPECIAL. They were very attentive and supportive in my decision making for my dress. I didn't feel as if they were pressuring to buy the most expensive dress, like had felt in the other places. The shop isn't extremely big but they work well. We were back and forth about 4 times. First, we went in to see if we liked their dresses. I fell in love with a Jasmine dress which I had actually seen and tried on in Alexis Bridal, but the owner's charisma in Special Event won me over. She's such a cute lady and a very nice person. Pros: Great Service and Wide Variety Cons: none more
